WiMax to replace Wi-Fi?

WiMax is supposed to go to those places currently unserved by broadband internet where it may not be economical or possible for Wi-Fi. Perhaps this could replace Wi-Fi. A link is below.

I hope they get that going. The only choices I have for internet are dial-up, cable internet, and satellite at the moment. I have cable internet of course. The Louisville area has 802.11 Wi-Fi, but the company is just out of reach on their signal to get it to me in Southern Indiana.
