What promotion did you go with. I'm assuming DHA, since that's what their main one is. If that's the case then yes you can cancel. But if you ordered through a retailer make sure they don't have a commitment. If you decide to cancel what Dish will do is ask you 20 questions and offer you their dropping promotion. Cancel. Then they'll send you prepaid boxes and you gotta return the equipment in two weeks.
Thats how I felt with tyring to watch Boston in my town in CT. No NESN on my cable system, just YES. So I made the move to Dish and never looked back.
The problem is not that it's blacked out on Dish. The problem is that Dish does not carry YES, the Yankees resgional sports channel, at all. However, as with many channels missing from Dish, DirecTV does carry it.Derwin0 said:
funny though, I live in Central Iowa, part of the Cubs home market as defined by MLB, yet, whenever the Cubs play on say Wednesday night ESPN, the ESPN coverage isn't blacked out on E*. Does the blackout only apply within so many miles of the ball park?

Well Eddie29 it seems that you will not get to see any Yankee games next season if you stick with Dish Network. They seem to have no intentions of ever putting YES on there systems. NBA season is also about to begin and if you have Dish Network you won’t be able to watch any NJ Nets basketball since they are also on YES. I guess if you’re a sports fan DTV or IO digital cable is the way to go. Charlie doesn't seem to like sports. But it seems that he sure loves porno!!! There are so many porn channels on Dish Network it isn’t even funny.

I HAVE DISH AND THEY BLACKOUT ALL YANKEE GAMES. I SIGNED UP FOR MLB FOR 25 BUCKS A MOUTH AND IT WAS STILL BLACKOUT. I THINK ITS BECAUSE DISH IS TO CHEAP TO CARRY YES.
