YouTube TV Drops Disney’s ABC, ESPN and Other Networks After Two Sides Fail to Reach New Deal

We just got our $20 credit from YTTV today. The only Disney programming we sometimes watch is the news on the local ABC outlet. For sports, primarily NHL, we subscribe to ESPN+ for the season.

How though?

Disney owns a group of channels, so do other media companies with their own specific groups of channels.

Other providers offer the Disney channels besides Hulu/Fubo, heck, of all of the major video providers, YTTV is likely the only one that doesnt at the moment.

I dont particularly like the ESPN channels being off of YTTV at the moment, and both seem to be playing hardball, but I dont really see anything sinister about it. Not yet anyway. These disputes happen to nearly all providers, they generally resolve themselves fairly quickly (some more than others).
Correct, however, when other disputes happen, it usually doesn't Help them the longer the dispute lasts.

You got your Credit 2 days later ?

They said that the Credit would be for the Next bill, not the Current one.

So we know, what does the Credit line say ?

How do you see what your being charged for, we don't get an itemized statement each month, that I know of.

I'll correct myself. I activated the $20 credit today. It'll appear on my next bill. Is that specific enough?

Much better ...

I did mine yesterday, after finding out you really didn't have to wait for the 2nd email that YTTV said was coming soon.

Several others have also applied for thier credits.

IF it happens to go another month, (lets hope not) according to YTTV, it only a 1 time credit ... maybe they will change thier minds, if needed ?????

Edit:
Fwiw, I got my 2nd YTTV email about an hour ago ...
Really unsure why they needed to do it this way.
They Should have just credited everyone ...

Decided to go with Directv Stream (or whatever in the heck it is called these days) until this sorts itself out.

The sports genre pack gives me all of the sports channels I need for the rest of the season, and the price was pretty good. It doesnt include CBS in my area for some reason, but I have that with Paramount +, so its no big deal.
Honestly, I'm far more impressed with Directv than I thought I would be. I had tried it a couple of years ago and found it ok, but just so.

I kind of like the layout of it all a little better than YTTV, and the package I have included espn unlimited in the price. The swipe left or right to change channels with Apple TV is a nice little touch.

The intention is to go back to YTTV when this situation is resolved as of right now, but the longer it drags out, I can see me getting used to this and not.

Especially with the sports genre pack being cheaper and including literally everything we watch with any regularity.

My parents are talking about switching to Fubo/Hulu+Live, but they don't want to pay the higher price. Sounds like they are going to pay either way if they want ESPN, which my mom definitely does want.
If theyre new customers they can get the 64.99 for 3 months deal which is lower than youtube tv. It's a decent band-aid for now until the standoff is resolved

This seems to be based on the fact that YTTV has 10M users and Disney is getting about $10/user/month from YTTV so, 100M/30 = 3.3M + whatever ad money is lost

The issue with this logic is they get paid when the agreement is signed, so really the amount will be negligible by EOQ
