NBCSN to shut down?

Didn't see this one coming... Tomorrow late evening, it's a goner...
Didn't see that coming ????
Its been posted for at least 6 months here.

This is NBCSN shutting down, not leaving a provider.

Spent a lot of quality time on NBCSN for NASCAR coverage, which will be shifting over to USA Network for 2022. All their Mecum Auction programming is shifting back to MotorTrend network, where it was before the move to NBC

RIP NBCSN.

Depending on the day of the week Christmas falls on, the NHL union contract prohibits games on Christmas Eve, Day, and Boxing Day (British/Canadian holiday falling on Dec 26th). This has been the case as long as I can remember. This year it was expanded to a week due to, you know what. The NHL is back and plays its "Winter Classic" outdoor game tonight in Minneapolis. The NHL was scheduled to shut down this year for almost 3 weeks to free the players for the Olympics. You know what has caused the players to decide not to go to China this year, and the NHL, supposedly, has a "zombie schedule" that will make up games over that cancelled break.

Did anyone happen to catch the official sign off, anything special?

I had a timer set for the last program out of curiosity. Wasn't anything special at all. The last program was a rerun of Mecum Auctions from Kansas City. That last program ended, then a commercial about Premier League's new home being on USA, followed by a slow montage of soccer field scenes with the USA Network logo. After a few minutes of that, the same Premier League on USA commercial played again, and during the commercial, Dish switched to the slate that you see on the channel now.

Which brings up, if one is old enough, the demise of Satellite News Channel, an early attempt at a CNN clone. Red Ted bought it to shut it down, maybe 83 or so. Told the staff ahead of time, which is a big no-no in broadcasting. Late afternoon final broadcast turned into a sexually charged drunken party.

Another, more sad, one was the demise on the linear version of the Mountain West Network. Most of the talent were stringers and moonlighting reporters from local TV, but the main host was out of a job. Had what can only be described as a nervous breakdown on the final day. Later it was revealed he had serious mental issues and he got treatment.
