You know if you order through the Dishstore we are waiving the Initial $49.99 Activation fee for all new customers signing up through the end of next week.

Why Pay Dishtv.com $49.99 when you can get it from the site sponcer for FREE!

Thanks for the terrific offer, but I called your number that you posted here yesterday and again today during normal business hours, and no answer. (rang at least 20 times both times). I also sent an email from the "support" section of your site yesterday afternoon that went unanswered. I don't want to tell you how to run your business, but you got me to visit your site, send you an email AND call you twice. It ended up being a waste of my time. :no

I ended up signing up somewhere else this afternoon......

REgarding $100 dish install

I called dish and argued with them over this charge of $100 for the second dish to receive voom channels. Apparently if they ahd left my voom dish on the roof, I would not have neeed another dish.

Anyhow, the supervisor agreed to reduce the charge to $50, and the installer (Who did the original Dish 4 rm) install, said he would get rest of the $50 waived by talking to Dish.

Bottom line - when you are ordering the additional Voom original HD form Dish, negotiate the second dish installation price. YOU DO NEED A SECOND DISH TO GET VOOM CHANNELS.

Also I got a lease upgrade to HD DVR 942 in $250.00. This equipment is really the latest, and at least $1000 in the market or even more so I am thinking $250 for lease is not that bad.

You go here. http://ekb.dbstalk.com/19

However, I have one local on 61.5 and Dish still wanted to charge me for the second dish. I said no way...

I finally found a CSR who agree with me on the 100.00 not need if locals were on the 61.5. He told me to call again and ask for the executive offices after15 minutes of explaining they final credited back the 100.00 :)

====FACTS about the $49.95 activation up charge =================

============WATCH OUT FOR IT============

NO one should ever ever have to pay that Dish $49.95 activation fee.

If you did you missed a big discount. Call them back. Get it taken off
If you already have it installed, and you got charged, call Dish back You have 30 days to get is taken off.

Why the FEE
=============
Some retailers will pocket it has an extra bonus, Spiff, or commision to the sales team. Good retailers like our Sponsor Dont charge the $49.95 up charge activation fee. There is no labor involved that would EVER justify a $49.95 activation fee, as all they do is type in the Serial number and Smart Card Number (takes 30 seconds).

HELP IS HERE just ask
================
If your having troubles just ask any existing Dish subscriber here for a Club Dish referral number (I have some that have not been used-they have real time stats online where you check your bill). We get $5 off our bill for referring you, and you avoid the $49.95

Just Private Message me or any other member, where here to help. No one should ever have to pay this up charge.

How to use this referral to avoid the $49.95 if they wont take it off
=====================================================
1. You can use the referral number on the Phone when your ordering via the national Dish 1-800 numbers.

2.
Referal Numbers dont work online, but it looks like they are already taking the charge off online.

3. After the install and you missed the discount
Its a lot harder to use the number after your setup. You will have to call in and mention that some how they did not type in the referral and you were charged the $49.95. Ask for it to be taken off.
You can check your bill online Minutes after the install is done, you will need your account number from the contract form you signed at the end of the install.

4. At activation time.
When the install is at your house an activation CSR will want to talk to you to verify the install, add it then or make sure you did not get charge it.

Hope this helps.

Dish is slimiest company I ever dealt with

I ordered from this DishTV.com outfit and was totally lied to about upfront charges. The whole deal was just cancelled by me and I will never have anything to do with Dish again ,as all the people I had dealings with during this attempted installation are clueless and very deceptive, I will stay with D*,as I WAS going to have both of them to have all availible HD but this experience totally turns me off as far as E* is concerned.

No Walter L your missing a discount. Dish makes it confusing so there is an extra profit in the promo if you dont watch for it.

It gets even more confusing when they have the Voom Promo and the Club DIsh promo.

Folks watch your first Two statements to be sure. They are real time on line the second your recevier is activated.

Club DIsh Deal-
NO $49.95 activation fee PLUS you get a $49.95 discount. Your missing the $49.95 discount with Club dish.

Your Discount is ZERO. It should be No Activation plus a $49.95 credit for a $49.95 discount.

NOTE: it is different if you do the Dish Voom www.dishtv.com online only offer. www.dishtv.com is a contracted web site that dish owns. It is not run by Dishnetwork employees. In other words it is out sourced.

Ether way, check your statements.

Below is the pasted text from the Club Dish Promo.

-Just making sure no one is over charged.

There's about 20 threads in here that should be in the dish forum. Some voomers are having a hard time moving away from the voom forum ;)

I see you've already taken the task and pointed out all the other threads that should be moved :D

maybe someone will get on that then... ;)

Im thinking we should leave it this way it is for one more week.

Some Users may only visit here once a week on the weekends and they may miss important information in the Voom forum. What if they are on vacation this week?

I switched to VOOM eight months ago from Dish, and now I am having trouble getting past CSR at Dish. 3 out of four set they would just restart the account, and then I could get the voom special offer. Unfortunately, they couldn't complete the arrangement on the phone, and gave me a seprate number: 1-800-969-4388. I need to do this on the phone, evidently, because you can't upgrade the voom offer to the 942 receiver online.

The fourth representative would not let me order the voom special offer because I had an "old account."

Does anyone know how to go about this nonsense?

That is absolute BS. We have the exact same situation and I got the 942 lease deal with an 811 for $250. First call wowhdtv and tell them you switched to voom from E* 8 months ago. The rep will transfer you to an account specialist. The specialist will be able to give you the current promotion for previous voom subscribers regardless of whether or not you were a E* subscriber. Keep doing this until you get someone who gives you the deal. Let me know how it goes. good luck

call local

Call up a local retailer and don't even mess with those outsourced non-english speaking idiots.someone local will be able to do the best deal for you, it's a lot better than someone who doesnt even know a thing about your area or it's needs. A local retailer will actually have someone there who is tech savvy and not reading from a script. Thats what I did after dealing with E* CSR's and the online E* dealers,he gave me exactly what I wanted and the same deal as the online people.

Just out of curiosity, now I'm wondering, is there an over the air HD receiver on the 942? There must be.

Yes, but just one. You can only record and watch one OTA HD channel at a time. There are 2 sat tuners so you can watch and record two sat channels at once. There is a link to a comprehensive review of the 942 in the Dish forum.

That is how I did it.. them DISH CSR jerks could not process my CC 3X... The local retailer had no problem and you get the same deal..

Retailers sometimes dont know all the facts either as they DO NOT have real time order screens. They can take orders but sometimes they dont always happen they way they say they will with all the Dish promos and credits.

If your have troubles call M-F only 9-5 Mountain time. Tell the CSR you have been getting the run around, as for a SR CSR, if that dont help ask for someone in the Executive office, thats where the SR SR CSRS (the trainers all live). They know the facts and the bottom line, but most only work 9-5

They have the real time order screens also.

They are not out sourced like if you call on the weekends or go through www.dishtv.com .

If you need a Club Dish referal number to avoid the $49.95 activation fee just PM anyone here. We all here to help and besides we get $5 off our bill (no point it paying Dish more than you have to).

FYI, The old voom box CAN receive E*!
