Dear Mr.

The accounting process has not yet been completed, you will be notified of the amount due, if any, when that process is finished. I do not have a time.

since skyangel sat service is ending 3-31,how much will i get back from sky angel since i signed up for 1 yr in june 2007??

I was also a yearly subscriber to SkyAngel DBS. I couldn't remember exactly when I paid my yearly fee, but I looked it up in my check register and called them in February and spoke to a Customer Service Rep and asked for a refund and she was very nice and told me how much I would be sent and that it should be processed in 8 to 10 weeks. I have not received it yet.

I hope you get it worked out soon.

Good luck, they owe some of the 10 year subs a lot more than that!

Make sure they don't do any sky angel fuzzy math. By that I mean that they figure the per month price at full price, $14.99 so you get less of a refund. I forget how much a year was but I think you saved $12 . if that the case your cost should be $13.99 a month, plus tax. Does that sound right?

For example if you paid $164.89 for the year (before tax) and they figure you had 10 months at $14.99 they would only refund you $14.99. However if they figured you paid $13.99/month then you would get $24.99 back (plus tax) for 2 months. see how much sky angel can make by fuzzy math. Even more for 10 year members :(

They had more than enough time to work out these figures. I would demand interest, not that I think you will get it. Good luck

catkoko, if you paid $13.99 per month in advance for 12 months of SA, but want a refund for the last 3 months, then you are no longer entitled to the 12 month discount since you were not subbing for the 12 months. I don't necessarily agree with that, but its the way that virtually every other cable/satellite/cellular provider works when they "pro-rate" the remainder of your contract. You could argue that it's not your fault that you couldn't subscribe for 12 months, but then again you could argue all day long about a lot of stuff, and in the end you're still getting what they give you ;)

I second that!

I am not counting on getting anything back...
but i will give it a shot:)

Sky Angel's claims of being prodded by failures of transponders never rang true to me.

At the time problems were experienced, Sky Angel had the rights to 6 additonal transponders that they were leasing to EchoStar.

If the satellite were about to die, I don't think EchoStar would have bought the rights to the transponders when Sky Angel decided they wanted out of satellite broadcasting.

In their application to FCC Sky Angel only said that part of the proceeds from selling the rights to the transponder frequencies would go toward starting up IPTV. That will leave the principles with a bundle of money if/when they decide that they can't get enough subscribers for IPTV and decide to stop the service (as happend in Canada - I know they used the ISP providing access to pornography as the reason, but what ISP can block all such access?).

Actually, I believe their plan was to retire the old bird and replace it with a new one, so they would either need to have SA surrender it's rights or work a new contract. It appears Dish made it impossible to enter a new contract for a reasonable price.

But as fate would have it the replacement bird had problems, so it has been sold to the DOD for "scrap," meaning it is only expected to last 6 years now.

Now it seems that VOOM also is parted from Dish. Many discussions in the Dish forum on that!

Wouldn't it be fun to theorize about an unlikely SA/ VOOM venture? Maybe they can talk Fox into pulling out of Dish in favor of the new DBS company!! :D

kind of funny.... i get a postcard,we want you back as a sky angel customer..
blah,blah, blah
but they still have not resolved my 3 month credit problem
things that make you go.......hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Someone that goes to my church that has been subscribing to SA monthly for 4 years had been putting it on autopay on his credit card. He told me a couple of Sundays ago that he called SA because they took out one payment the month after SA went dark. He called and told them to correct it or he would call his CC company, think he said Mastercard. They didn't so he did....end result, Mastercard credited him backcharging SA for the entire year which started for him in either Nov or Dec so right now, he's contacted SA to get them to figure out how he can pay for 5 months that he feels he owes. SA contacted him saying that the chargeback was not properly done, imagine that. Anyone else wouldn't worry about those 5 months but he feels he owes it. He told them don't send me a bill, I'll figure out the monthly amount I owe you and I'll send you your money and that any correspondence from SA would go in the trash. He told me good ridance. He doesn't own a computer and when I ask about how he got his attitude about SA so vehemently quick. He said that he turned the TV on 4-1-08 and it had all those "info commercial signs" as he called it. That was the first he heard of it, he was hilariously funny about a serious subject. He's 86 years young.

Not that SA has anything to offer me with it's IPTV service but I don't believe I've received a thing since the late March mailing with the Dish package options and IPTV flyer re-send.

Even with a 7 Mbps connection (which "should" still be more than enough bandwidth for everything) between my streaming home security feeds, VOIP, Tivos, and PCs I seem to be having some connection issues which Vonage claims is the fault of ISP provider BHN. It's been a bit better lately after contacting tech support but it got me to thinking just how really ridiculous it can be to have phone, security, internet access, Tivo, AND TV services all dependent on the cableco connection because if they have a problem on their end you got nothin'.

I love my Vonage package because it gives me 2 separate lines and all kinds of features for about $40 a month after taxes & fees (about what I'd pay here for standard phone service alone from Verizon) but if the ISP issues were to keep popping up (Vonage had been stable for years!) I'd seriously have to consider going back to Ma Bell. But at the same time having those issues and being stuck in an 18 month commitment to IPTV for the additional $15 - $25 a month for service that was erratic due to the ISP? Let's just say I'd have to struggle with at least 1 of the 10 Commandments. ;)
