Do they have any stand alone devices that upconvert a 720p signal to 1080i? I have a mitsubishi ws55511 which doesn't accept 720p as an input. Alot of Xbox games out there are 720p, and it would be nice to have the upconverted to 1080i, instead of just running them at 480p

thanks

Yes. I believe they are called scalers. I'm not sure if they are stand alone or must be used with a HTPC.

ouch those things are expensive. I think my 480p will have to work. lol

Just set your X-Box to 1080i,not 480P or 720P,it will convert it for you

A game like MVP 2004 isn't 1080i. So for Mits. owners, it's either scaling it or just using 480p. $1400!!! Yikes indeed.

ya, if a game is 720p as the highest resolution, it won't upscale it to 1080i and there are quite a number that are 720p. 1080i are only for the games that are programmed in 1080i, and only 3 of them exist.

actually, now that I think of it, I haven't ever tried it without having a 480p setting. Lets see

ya that didn't work, all games thare nor not 1080i it now runs as 480i

The whole kid going blind from too much soap in the mouth always resonated with me as a child. If only there was soap for my brain.
