Post Your Bill

This months bill is pretty simple for HD absolute and a 722.

HD Absolute w/locals $34.99
DVR service fee $ 6.00
Tax $ 1.58

TOTAL=$42.57

So mine went up by a penny.

My current bill is below. I have a ViP 722 & a ViP 222. I have 4 TVs connected but I only use 3. 4th TV is hardly used, if ever. I guess my new bill will be out soon.
Do you know how much my new bill will be and ways I can cut it down.

thanks

I think that I know a way that you should be able to cut your bill down. Currently, you are paying $10.00 for Bronze HD and $10.00 for Platinum HD. That is $20.00. What you can do is talk to a CSR either online (which is what I usually do) or by phone (as paulinespens mentioned) to have Bronze & Platinum HD for $10.00 a month. That would save you at least $10.00 a month and that may also help reduce the amount of tax. I hope that this information helps you.

We also have 4 TVs. Our leased receiver (222k) was $7.00 before due to the phone connections. Now, it is $14. The first receiver is part of the programming package price from what I understand. DVR is now $6 for all TVs instead of $5.98.

Okay. I think that I figured out what your new bill subtotal would be (if you are able to get Bronze & Platinum HD together for $10/month instead of $20/month)...
AT 120 $39.99
DVR Service $ 6.00
Bronze & Platinum HD $10.00
Maa TV A LA Carte $9.99
Gemini TV $14.99
ViP 722 Included in base price
DHA Leased Receiver- ViP 222 $14.00
TOTAL $94.97 + tax

If your receivers were connected before February 1 (which I am guessing that they were), you will probably get a $5.00 receiver credit for 6 months (bringing your subtotal to $89.97 if this happens).

Here is my bill. I did notice that I am already showing the $5 credit on my next bill. It will be interesting to see how much the bill changes.

Cool, I've initiated a chat session.

Thank you! If it works I'll have to use the money to become a supporter of this site :)

Try another CSR / chat until you get one that will let you do it.

Or you can go onto dish web site and do it yourself. It entails a few check box clicks -- search other threads.

Literally this could save you $10 /mo.

Don't give up! Keep trying.

That is right. Do not give up. Try CSR roulette until one does it. If all else fails, as dishburgh stated, then you can do it on the web site.

Thanks! I'll continue to try CSR's. I'm moving soon, so I think when I go to schedule my Dish Mover I'm going to upgrade my second receiver to a 722 and try to get my package sorted out then as well. Thanks for the great advice :)

I am not sure if you know this, but a 722 beyond the primary reciever will be an additional $17/month [unless it is your primary receiver] (The first receiver is included in the price of the base package from my understanding.) with the new pricing that took effect 2/1 since it is a Duo DVR. Non-DVR Duos beyond the primary receiver are now $14/month as well . DVR solos beyond the primary receiver are $10/month now. All non-DVR solos beyond the primary receiver are now $7/month. Right now some customers are seeing $5 credits due to phone lines being plugged in receivers prior to 2/1. Just wanted to let you know so there are no surprises. Unfortunately, additional receiver fees went up the most. There were a few minor increases. DVR service went from $5.98 to $6 (unless there was a bundle with locals and DVR); however, it is supposed to cover all DVRs from my understanding unlike before 2/1. DHPP is now Service Plan for $6.00 instead of $5.99.

I spent at least 45 minutes with online CSR who kept arguing with me, I kept telling him their is no longer a Platinum package. He kept reffering me to Dish Website, and i kept telling it says their is no more platinum package. Finally he admitted his mistake, posted credits and made the appropriate changes to my account.
The idiot told me that this forum was misinformed, my reply to him was "no, my friend you are the one that is misinformed, Satguys don't post BS and if it was unreliable info it would be poted as a rumour".

Technically, on the website, there is a Platinum package. However, it has a footnote saying that it is a special bonus only for new customers to get it with any HD package. When it first took place, it was my understanding that the existing customer could continue paying $10/mo. for HD and $10/mo. for Platinum if he or she wanted to or could switch to pay $10.mo. for both. I think those who would have wanted to continue doing this had some type of grandfathered package that they thought they would possibly lose. Whether they would lose any grandfathering or not, I am not sure of that. I do not think any existing customer would want to pay $20/mo. for HD and Platinum when they could pay $10/mo.. This happened in the fall because we waited to sign up for E* to see if the Platinum channels would be the same price as only HD back then. I think that they could have put existing customers with the $10 HD & Platinum especially to keep them as customers. I am sure there are more people who still do not know about this because it was only noticeable on forums such as this one before it took place.

What's with all the recent channel moves?
