2010 Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament Thread

I heard somewhere that Jim Boeheim tricked the selection committee into giving the Orange a better bracket than they deserved. After Arinze Onuaku got hurt (and if you saw the injury you'd know it was bad) Boeheim acted like it nothing so the selection committee kept Syracuse as a 1 seed, and gave them a much easier bracket than say Kansas got. Now we can see that Onuaku is nowhere close to being able to play, but Syracuse never got penalized.
I'm trying to remember just how many people were commenting a week ago on how having to play UNI in the second game constituted putting Kansas into a tough bracket. Of course the assumption then by pretty much everyone was that UNI would be making a quick trip home after the first game and Kansas would be playing UNLV.

Actually, my son figures UNI is going all the way, because the fates seem to be conspiring to keep his wife away from him. She is in the UNI band, and this will be the third weekend in a row she will be gone. One week while they won the Missouri Valley Championship in St. Louis, last week in Oklahoma City, and this week back in St. Louis. Her only complaint about the brackets was that she was hoping for a more southern location. :)

The 'Cuse has not started well. They have shot terrible and turnovers with silly passes and not taking advantage of the bigger front line. Settling for too many jumpers.

Syracuse is in some serious trouble. Butler has completely thrown sand in their gears. This is starting to feel like Northern Iowa-Kansas all over again.

Well...the end of a UGLY 1st half for the 'Cuse. The defense has been very good. They have them shooting at 40%...but bad shots, bad passes and a 14-2 disadvantage in turnovers have them in the biggest hole they have been ALL YEAR.

I am not worried about the defense because the defense has been good. But they are just killing themselves with the absolutely stupid turnovers.

CBS HD feed like watching from the upper deck?

Maybe this is the wrong forum but watching both games on Dish and OTA in HD, and the camera is so far out I can see 10 rows of spectators on each side. I feel like I'm watching the game from the upper deck??

F***ING turnovers.....we couldn't hold on to the F***ING ball if they had a gun to their heads and rolled it to them.

FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUDDDDDDGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel for you salsa. The two teams that most deserved to go to a FF are out, and the 2 who I want to see out the most will probably wind up there. Watch Purdue roll over and die tomorrow just to spite me. :(

What pisses me off the most...is the throwing the ball away like crazy....and the lack of calls because great defense is borderline fouling...and the hacking on Rautins was no where near border line.

...F*************************************!!! I am so pissed. What a major disappointment. The great record they had meant NOTHING....:mad:

...wasted effort....

..and BELIEVE me, not having Arinze was WAY beyond huge.....

I thought they were going to pull it out at the end. That 3 that bounced out and dropped back in was crazy, reminded me of Don Nelson's shot to beat the Lakers in Finals back in the day. Boehiem kind of screwed up by wasting his timeouts early on. That last 2 mins flew by, and Syracuse kind of panicked. That's when you want 3 or 4 timeouts so you can set up a press and comeback.

West Virginia rolls on, so my national title pick is still alive.

As for Butler/Syracuse- I do feel for Salsa, because I thought they could get by without Arinze- but I'm not going to flip ou over thist like I did a year ago.

1. Butler DID have the same win-loss record (and clearly should have been a higher seed- anywhere from 2-4. How Vandy gota higher seed than them- I don't know)

2. I didn't have the Cuse getting out of the West (K-State's still my pick).

With Butler moving a step closer to pulling off what Sparty did a year ago- a homestate Final Four- you can't help but wonder, WTF was Todd Lickliter thinking when he left Butler for Iowa?

Sorry... guys...you won't see me here in this thread that much....whenever Syracuse has been booted out...which has been often....I just completely lose interest in watching the NCAAs.:(:river
