There's something weird about 184, but since the timestamp of 184 is older than 175 by about a day, TLE 175 is the more correct one and places D12 at 102.96 which is very close to the 102.765 final destination.
Either TLE you choose to use, at the epoch of TLE 175 D12 had already passed 102.765 and was moving at 3+ degrees per day westward at 256 kilometers above the Clarke Belt. If you apply either TLE to D12's current position, it is projected to be west of 104W and the predictions vary by less than 2% of a degree.

If the repair plan for D10 is approved, there's likely to be lots of other activity going on in the slot.
 
But your failing to remember that D12 is replacing D10 TEMPORARILY , not forever, this is only going to be there till they get D10 fixed and then go on it's way to doing what it was designed for.
I'm not failing to remember anything. I'm remembering that both D10 and D12 are configured with 10 transponders and 49 spots that both use exactly the same frequencies. If D12 can replace D10 and D10 can backup D12, D12's spot beam configuration must be identical to D10's.

Two co-located satellites pointing spots in the same directions and at the same radio frequencies cannot cooperate to provide more bandwidth than either of them taken individually (assuming both are fully functional).
 
I talked on the phone with the DIRECTV Customer Advocate Team yesterday regarding BBC America and they said when D12 gets aligned and working with including the 30 HD Channels that are coming this month that BBC America and other HD channels will be coming in the next few months... also they said... it will take some time!

Will see about this one... I might take a lonnnng time.

Aren't the spotbeams configurable, movable or stearable if you will?

I know they can change how wide a spotbeam is, I thought they could point them as well.

According to Tom at the other site, spot beams can share transponder frequencies in multiple areas of the US. So D12 can add additional spot beams to provide even more HD LiL instead one being a backup to the other.
 
Whew, hey folks theres nothing to worry about. I just watched a commercial where some Air Force guys detected some space junk heading for one of their satellites and employed avoidance maneuvers to save it.

So clearly if anything actually does go wrong with the satellite, one of these guys in their snappy black outfits will push a few buttons and set everything straight. Shoot, I think I might go and re-enlist tomorrow so I can get in on this.

Aren't the spotbeams configurable, movable or stearable if you will?
I tried to advance that theory and was shot down. I'm pretty convinced that they aren't steerable. They may be able to rotate the pattern some.
I know they can change how wide a spotbeam is, I thought they could point them as well.
I believe the "widening" of the spotbeam is more a function of pumping up the downlink power than extending the circumference like an adjustable flashlight beam.

Right after the announcement of the D12/D10 switch-a-roo, SatelliteRacer did mention that before D* decided to do the D10 fix, we would've gotten almost all 30 channels this month. At that point he also did mention that the number we got in May would be 5. So I guess the rest will come after the fix.

For my own selfish reasons based on what packages I get now these are the five I would like to get.

ESPNU HD
Travel Channel HD
STARZ Cinema HD
STARZ In Black HD
Encore HD East
