Just ordered HR24

Hi ,since i now have the HR24 and two HR22 and i hooked up b-bands on the HR24 in order to make it work. If i had D come out and hook up the SWM will that make the HR24 any better or just the same and can you take the B-BANDS off the HR22.

you would only need a single wire hook up and no b band convs.

it's obviously faster.

btw, the hr20's were fast too when they started out.

how long till the hr24's get enough garbage loaded to them to slow them down ?

its been posted that the HR24 has better hardware than the HR20. i've seen enough positive feedback on the HR24 but more feedback is never bad.

I'm so close to getting this. especially with that bill me later option!

Im also on the fence about picking one of these up.

Do I need direc to come out and run new lines?
Not sure I understand how the hookup is any different then what I have now?
HR22? I do have the two line setup.

Also, Not sure anyone knows this for sure..It has to be faster than the current units.

I cant stand the clunkiness of my HR22's..

Im also not in contract. Dont want to be either.

Will I be forced to sign a new 2 year commitment?

new contract yes. i just got out of mine but this will put me right back under a new contract. don't mind since i plan on staying. and yes its much faster than all the previous HR dvrs. appears to be the best DVR yet from D*. in your case hook up is the same. you have bbc's right? you will need them since it appears you don't have a swm set up.

it does jim. the ota part is something that most don't use anymore. i still use it and i have the am21 so i don't know what the big deal is...........

Overstock has them now for $178, I keep itching closer to getting a couple. Yesturday my HR20 was dragging bad, drive was down to 10%. I cleared another 10% and it is running better.

I just spent another 10 minutes re-watching all the HR24 videos on youtube. Several show faster scrolling, just hard to gauge real-world operation so to speak.

I've installed about 10-12 of these guys, and they are fast Jason. They have a nice sleak look with the flat touch screen face, also a 1080p res led to boot. I can't wait to get on in my own house.

Honestly, the dvr on normal functions, guide, channels, menu, are as fast as a D12 or any standard box is, which is a lot faster then any dvr previously.

I not only bought one, I just bought two, which will replace my HR20 fleet (after I work through the rest of my recordings, good thing I have an SWM 16 coming from the DECA upgrade, hopefully Saturday).

Only thing that would be better is if DirecTV would give me them for free or $99 - which is likely - but they can't guarantee any model, and never could in the past. It's not worth that risk to get an HR21 refurb

So while I still have a fleet of receivers, the ones that I personally use regularly will be HR24 or H24 sometime next week. I'll probably end up retiring a R22 and H21 and sending them back, or else I'll have more receivers than TVs...
