Wow, its really sounding like a bad break up, sounds like there were some issues

Dan Gilbert says LeBron James 'quit' during the playoffs | cleveland.com

Lebron quit during playoffs??

I think he did, at least in Game 5. Like he says, watch the tape.

I'm now convinced Lebron had something like this planned 2 years ago. He arranged for him same some national team teammates to be on the market at the same time. Oh, if he had won in Cleveland, they probably would have come here. But as soon as it turned into an uphill battle, he folded and figured he would go elsewhere the following year.

I think what Gilbert said proves it. He would not return any of his calls or messages, and refused to inform him personally of the decision, waiting until his show to have a business partner call him. The only reason we agreed to meet with other teams is just so they could stroke his ego.

Watch the heat not win a championship next year.... How embarrassing would that be! I dont think this is going to be the right fit for him going to Miami.

who's expecting them to win a championship next year??? i'm not. they'll need more than just these three big time players to do that. don't expect a ring next season......

team has 5 players right now with no space :s

Oh boy. Looks like I've got a lot of catch-up reading to do since I last logged on (4pm yesterday). I'm not hiding folks. I'll be sure to share my thoughts shortly. Got a lot of reading to do...

A self proclaimed King like the self proclaimed "King of Pop" will most likely not end well. Too much arrogance for me to stand. How about you?

I was thinking about making this a thread but there are enough out there already.

Today listening on a national radio show, the host put out there that if Lebron makes his national TV announcement that he is leaving thre Cavs does that make him instantly a hated man in ohio

The host even put out does he become the new "Art Model"

What do those from ohio think about this??

Agreed.

The difference though is this. Art Model could never come back to Cleveland. But he had that luxury because, you know... he wasn't a "player".

LeBron though? He'll have to come to Cleveland at least twice a year. Let me tell you this: It will NOT be pretty. Leave the woman and kids at home for that game. This game will make the nickel beer night and the bottle toss incident look like child's play.

Kobe did what he had to do. Kobe didn't drive Shaq out, Shaq's ego also played a big roll in it as well. Shaq has also talked bad about DWade and Phoenix now that he has cut bridges with them. You really take everything he says without a grain of salt? Kobe didn't run off Phil Jackson either, because Phil Jackson wouldn't have come back otherwise.
Kobe hasn't been spoiled, he had to put up with no teammates in the prime of his career. He asked to be traded if no help came, he got his help and shut up. LeBron has had several additions to his team and they do no compare to the terrible teams Kobe had in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Salsa, I feel bad for you, because you will have to put up with LeBron's antics this year.

Say WHAT ?

Kobe is the KING of Spoiled.

He's where it all STARTED

Absolutly!

I remember going down to Quicken Loans arena a few years back and they where selling season ticket packages left and right, the place was always sold out and the ticket prices where through the roof.

I can see people not renewing their season ticket packages right now, and the only people going to the games are going to be die hard Cleveland fans who will go if the team wins or looses.

They had a good team with James, and when you build a team on a single player this is what happens.

Dan Gilbert could be right that they will win a championship before James does, and after all the crap James has put everyone through with his decision I would love to see that happen.
Part of that is Cleveland's inability to draw top notch players to town, even WITH LeBron there.

I still think bunch of people will still wear the #23 jersey by then still.

You don't know Cleveland fans, do you?

We had jersey burning parties all night. I'm hosting one tonight. Burning every newspaper clipping I saved of this POS since he was in high school, burning all my bobleheads, burning my two jerseys, burning my "Witness" tees, burning all my SI Magazine covers.

LEBRON JAMES IS DEAD TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...I have NO ISSUES with being upset, hell, to a certain extent, I can almost understand the bitterness by the owner in the letter he sent....but to say this:

Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James quit during playoffs - ESPN

...so NOW he was ALSO a problem child??! Where was this when they kicking everyone's ass?

Uh oh... Looks like Gilbert says the "curse" will follow LBJ to Miami! LMAO!!...

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Yeah but Cleveland had a revolving door of players coming and going. How was LeBron supposed to have confidence in them when every year they make some 5 player trade at the trade deadline, and the guys who always seemed to stay were stiffs like Ilgauskis and Varejo? Resigning with the Cavs would have been just like watching Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. Same sh*t different year.

LeBron handcuffed this team. Let me explain...

LeBron wouldn't "commit" to this team past his contract. This is why we had to take on the best available veteran at each trade deadline. I do not blame the Cavs front office for any of this. They did everything in their power to assemble a winning team and convince LeBron to stay. When a premier player became available, their first question was this: "LeBron, I need to know if you're staying past the 2009-2010 season", to which LeBron couldn't give an answer. So you see, LeBron wanted his cake and to eat it too. He wanted the best players, but didn't want to commit to his team. In the end, it bit him in the ass.

Ok, Miami fans .....

There was a time this FA period that you did not know if Wade was staying.
Had he left, how would you have felt about Wade ?
Suppose he decided to go up to Cleveland and play with James ?

(don't know if that was ever a possibility, sounds like Cleveland has money issues).

Lebron quit during playoffs??

After the Cavs/Celtics series, I danced around the "Q" word, but I certainly didn't hide my criticism of James' effort in that series. I basically cut him some slack, but there is NO denying that the LeBron in that series was not the LeBron I knew for the previous 7+ years. It was almost like he was already looking toward the future. It was an odd series and it's unfortunate that is the last playing memory we will have on him.
