OFFICIAL DISH / FOX ORDEAL DISCUSSION THREAD

Big ad this morning from FOX in the Arizona Republic. In a full page ad on the back page of the Sports section. AS OF NOVEMBER 1st YOU COULD ALSO LOSE FOX 10 (our national FOX Channel, Bones, NFL etc.). Also when I try to get ESPN Classic I get a message saying it is a extra charge channel.

So Hemi does it give you great pleasure to come here and B about E* after it has been ages since you had them?
Yep it gives me great pleasure to watch Charlies poor excuse for a Satellite provider suffer customers losses, and channel drops, while for the past 3 years all he did was try to screw his customers over every month. Now its his turn, and I'm loving it.

By the way May was the last time I've had Dish and since then they lost over 12 channels including all my RSN's.

Great company you bend over for.:up:p:p

Silly level? A small wager that goes to support this site is not all that silly to me

Don't have much confidence in what you stated? That is OK. I have seen you make that comment at least two times, I just wanted to see if you are confident enough to back it up. I see you are not
Well Kab not a Dummy.

There are only 2 safe bets with Dish Network.

  1. That your Price will increase more times in a year then any company.
  2. And you will lose channels at random.
:D

I made a comment. You cleverly turned it into a challenge. No thanks. A wager is a thing among gentlemen. And I'm not seeing one.

So, since April, Dish Network has added, what 5 or 6 new channels, including Epix and Sony Movie Channel, and additional channels were launched in HD? Dish Network launched FSC HD last season not the beginning of this season like Directv.

Also Dish offers a number of top quality channel HD feeds for channels like AMC, TCM, Epix, Retro, History International, 4 HBOs, BBCAmerica. Yeah, Directv may have 24/7 local RSNs in HD, but most of that programming isn't worth watching.

They've launched DishOnline which allows people to watch movies from their subscribed movie stations online, from anywhere. Most of this, since one month before you left.

I understand people wanting different options and Directv isn't bad by any means, but this hate against Dish Network seems to be a bit neurotic. Dish charges less for programming, that is indisputable. They charge more for equipment, but their equipment is undoubtedly reliable and top notch. People want to be able to record 4 shows at one time, at no additional cost. That is just ridiculous.

Sorry if this has been asked....I don't want to read this whole thread.

Has anyone been successful in getting any sort of statement credit from Dish? I'm a multi-sport sub so I just lost a ton of channels.....TYIA! :D

Told you this before

Do you have inside information or documentation for this? I heard Charlie went to NPS looking for a way to market the distant networks for Dish not the other way around. He was only interested in getting around the FCC ruling. He supported 2 transponders for NPS to give him access to east & west coast network feeds. NPS also used those transponders to feed c band services to us. Charlie couldn't wait till he could drop using NPS and sell the distant's himself again. Well that happened and NPS could not afford to support those transponders on their own. Charlie offered NPS $50.00 per subscriber to convert to DN. NPS then went on a all out lie and deceit campaign this year to get that lousy $50.00 per head and killed the numbers so much that Motorola decided to get out of it since there was no profit any more,

Charlie has been screwing C band for years. He bought out Superstar /Netlink/Turnervision years back to hasten the demise of C band. If Charlie had his act together he wouldn't have to sink to such levels to kill off competition. C band had it own place and was fairly stable. Not all can have a bud. We are a tight nit group and could have had quite a future if Charlie didn't stick his noise where it didn't belong. So now Charlie is taking a pounding and rightfully so.

If Charlies ways are so great how come he can't take on DirecTV and Comcast and pull the same crap. Guess Charlie ain't got enough green mail to buy them out.

I used to work for Superstar, Netlink & NPS. I can't give you documentation as that was years ago. But was told in advance that they would be closing down and were looking for a buyer. Charlie happened to be the one w/ the $$. I ran a C/Ku commercial and some home installation for close to a decade. I installed numerous C-band systems into several hotels & motels and the programming was thru the commercial divisions of those providers. I can not give you any documentation as it was years ago that I closed the biz and no longer needed to keep all that paperwork. So it was all tossed around 8 yrs ago when I moved.

I wish I could give away 80% of the total TV channels that I subscribe to, and only to receive two (2) channels in return. FX and NatGeo.

I was fine with getting ripped off every month. But getting ripped off and having two (2) of my favorite channels missing is not cool.

OK, getting on the rant craze again, sorry :p

Yes, Yes, you're right. I think Dish is trying to drop channels on purpose to help Directv level the playing field for HD. By this rate, in six months or a year, Directv might actually be competitive w/Dish. Dish is being benovolent.

I contacted them because they were "giving" HDNet Movies and HD Theatre for free in place of FX and Nat Geo, but I am a platinum HD sub and was thus still paying for them. They gave me Platinum HD and Starz free for three months plus three PPV coupons. It would be worth it to see what they will give you.

See, its not cheaper. It used to be cheaper, Like in 2009, 2010 is a whole different story. So what is Charlie doing with the money?? Not paying networks I can tell you that much.

I already compaired the 2 companys, and my sevices are $12-15 less with D* then E* depending on the equipment I have with E*.

E* screwed themselves. This recent channel drop is no one fault but charlies.
He's a scammer and has always been. This guy has more lawsuits that cost him millions because of his scams.

Speaking of. How about a merge so the one company can be the largest TV provider on planet Earth.

Imagine the HD lineup with both D* and E*'s offerings. Plus, we would still have FX and NatGeo.

Charlie, time to retire and keep your billions. Or Sell the company to DirecTV!!!

ha :D

The last statement is know as baiting. I'm not giving rise to you prurient fantasies. And I've got a good deal w/ absolute hd and have only lost 1 of the channels that I sub to (NatGeo). As I don't watch sports I never subbed to the RSN's & I haven't watched Disney in yrs. My daughter grew up; maybe you should too.

I have not. I have the best HD and regular package there is. They can't give me programming that I want. The only programming I do not have is Sports, Foreign channels, and Adult. I do not care for those, so if they offer me them it means nothing to me. I piss on sports, foreign and adult channels

Doubt they'll give anybody cash, check, credit, or a balance off their monthly statement. They're in it to make money, not to refund money.

When did I step into the Dish v Directv Warzone? (I though I had that forum blocked)

As soon as you started reading this thread. There are a bunch of past subs that seem to want to make this out to be a D* vs E* thread. To name a couple Hemi 6.1, & goaliebob99. I'm glad that they found what they both wanted. Full time HD RSN's so they can watch every rerun game on these stations in HD.
