DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

No offense to anyone, but this thread is starting to remind me of one of my wife's soap operas...I away from it for days at a time, yet when I come back it appears everyone is still on the same story line...Maybe things will change on July 1st.:D

Dish may have 14 Million subscribers [households], but every person in the house is not counted as a viewer of a particular TV show. Ever have/hear of a Dead Party? I know people who have a dozen of people in their house to watch The Walking Dead. Not all those people are counted There is no way to know they are even there. :)

But they aren't considered living occupants of the house.

Guilty as charged. :)

an agreement could be reached at say 11pm on june 30th. the fat lady hasn't sang yet.

This thread will never end unless Dish and AMC reach an agreement. If the deadline comes and goes and AMC is gone, then it will be endless speculation on if they will ever reach a deal to restore AMC...

It's just upsetting how dish uses their customers as scapegoats in these disputes. If they truly wanted to keep prices low, they should cut different things within or make different adjustments instead of readily dropping channels, adding surcharges, and increasing fees.

With all the funky DISH lovin' that has been going on in this thread, its obvious that DISH subs don't care.

Heard Comcast advertisement on radio today. They are taking full advantage of this situation & calling it out.
I'm thankful I get by with the welcome pack & TV doesn't mean that much to me, take my internet away & that would be a different story...............

Are you suggesting the name of the thread be changed to, As The Satellite Turns?

There is a whole legal system based on "intent". Unless we're a society of mind readers how can we say for sure what someones intentions are?

Who's legal system, and what does intent have to do with it?

My point is a public battle between 2 companies and neither has done anything yet except talk **** & involve the general public. Speculation I suppose is the driving force in threads like this. Looks like I stepped into a pile of bs on a subject I could care less about.

So, you don't think the consumer has a right to know what is going on?

I apologize if I am speculating but... I thought the whole purpose of the SatelliteGuys forums was to open up specific topics for debate and discussion.

With obvious intent -- but they are your shoes.

When a channel is going to be dropped, yes I think it's incumbent on the principles to tell the consumer why.

Some of the best ideas come from speculating.
