Hopper with Sling Software version S335

I find quite a number of sticking transfers (last few seconds of HwS to EHD) are now working.
Some of those not getting the transfer beyond a few seconds are fixed by a reboot.
Some of the transfers to EHD require doing them one at a time. A royal pain with 1000's to go.

Issues

It's back . . . I'm losing audio again, this time when deleting a recording after watching it on LR HWS, recorded on BR HWS. Connected by Toslink to Vizio soundbar, PCM only. Have to turn off SB, then back on to get sound back.
Not a happy camper, as it had been fixed & working correctly with 330. Usual 1 step forward, 2 steps back whenever there's an update, & today I went from 330 to 335 on that HWS.
Edit - still frequently showing wrong list of recordings between HWS. If I delete a program from one HWS, screen doesn't refresh correctly, shows recordings from other HWS until I force it to switch.

A few tough transfers

I have a bad HWS that I've patiently been moving recordings from onto a new EHD. It's been very slow, as many were failing with 330. So last night I let it stay connected to the dish and it went to 335. But I'm having trouble with the last half dozen. - they fail with "an error occurred while transferring... These are OTA recordings of The Folllwing and one DISH locals of Revolution. Of course have done multiple resets, both hard and soft. Any ideas or just give up and find them online?

Follow up to my comment about loosing ota recordings I had made of Xmas stuff from PBS. Made an off hand comment to the wife this am. She said "Oh, I deleted them"

Not really. These were mostly Christmas concerts that I had recorded for her. I was going to move them to an ehd so they were saved for next Christmas. I was waiting for the software update to fix the ehd transfer problem. So if she didn't want them it was OK with me.

I just noticed the skip forward and back add theactual time per click , nice. So 4 clicks skips 2 minutes or 4 back shows 1 min.

On my Hoppers skip back is still 10 seconds per click. 4 clicks back is 40 seconds. Forward clicks is still 30 seconds. I wish the skip forward and back were adjustable like I had one time on a DVR from Charter Cable. I had my DVR set on one skip forward click was three minutes.

WOW, that's good.

I'm moving many shows from one EHD to another. Under S335, I have no problem moving the EHD to the Hopper.
But the move to EHD often stops after a few seconds. If I choose the certain shows it does the whole show.
It almost always is not the last show transferred. But other than that I can't find rhyme or reason.
I hope it helps someone else to know one of the bunch transferred will go. Will I get them all? Don't know.
Just stick with the transfer page and do one at a time and waste your time.

Closed captioning is now more reliable with S335. On S334 I often had to hit pause/pause to get it started. It would also start when our phone rang which turned on caller ID. That was somewhat strange.

A big gripe for me is the Estimate Time Remaining is usually grossly exaggerated when starting a transfer.
It rather quickly comes down to a reasonable estimate. Starting with 100 hours is wrong for a 1/2 hour show.
With S335 it will now do the opposite sometimes and start with a few seconds which will take some minutes.
Let's get that first estimate better based on the show size--about 500MB per minute for a good disk.
That is 10 to 20 times faster than the play time.

Not once but twice.... getting S335... Yesterday when I turned on the TV there was the notice about a firmware upgrade. I received S335. Today the same thing! At first I though what the hell S336? Nope S335. Anyone else seen this bizarre behavior? Doing a menu-menu showed that the timestamp next to the firmware level was the same as yesterday. If it happens again I'll reboot my HWS to see if that fixes.

Mine did that when I got S334. First day I got the notice on both the Hopper and Joey, and the next day I got the notice again on both of them as well. Never came back after the second time. Just got S335 yesterday, so don't know if it came up a second time today or not yet (didn't turn the TV on before I left for work)

After 15+ Years and $17,000, I'm Thinking of Leaving DISH
