If you're fast, you can delete your borderline-politics post. ;) BTW - Al Sharpton is... Oh, nevermind.

Al Sharpton is really a Bobble Head. Seriously, since he lost the weight his head looks way too big for his body. Is that political? :biggrin

I'm just saying, with so many options, who cares about these channels while the companies work it out. We all know they'll be back shortly. That's not even questionable. I just think it's a great opportunity for everyone to get some discounts.

we need some ground rules about this topic since about a dispute with a news channel that covers political news with a certain political bias on this list.

1. don't bring up politics or the views of the news channels
and 2. keep it on topic on the Time Warner/Turner and Dish dispute.

i'm sure the mods and Scott would agree with my two ground rules on this discussion.

now back on topic, if true about TNT and TBS where their contract ends a few weeks after the deal with the rest of the Turner networks expiring, then it would a 2010 flashback.

so in other words, this is the 2010 Fox dispute all over again, where we lost FX, Nat Geo, and 16 FSN RSNs for 4 weeks because Fox and Dish couldn't agree to a new deal and at the same time wanted to bundle the Fox O&O stations, which also was having the contract to carry the channels to expire. so Fox and Dish resolved the dispute by bundling the Fox local O&O stations along with the channels removed during the 4 week dispute being restored from the lineup.

This just happened to me watching Adult Swim. They posted a website (dishstandsforyou.com) with the following info:

Our contract with Turner Networks (Turner) has expired and they have removed CNN, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, CNN en Español, Headline News, truTV, and Turner Classic Movies from DISH’s channel lineup

what the heck?
I hope those networks never return to DISH. I hope DISH drops TNT and TBS, for all I care. I am done watching their channels forever. I encourage ALL DISH customers to Boycott Turner Broadcasting, especially when it ever returns.

I understand a distaste personally, but that seems a little extreme. Any reason in particular? I tend to enjoy my baseball. And robot chicken. I can wait for both, not a huge concern, but others may be baseball fanatics.

Why ???? some of these are good highly watched channels...

I'll be the first to admit, I am a dish fan boy, mostly a Charlie fan boy more than anything, but I also admire Ted. Billions of dollars out of virtually thin air. I love learning how they do that.

Are any of these missing channels on the welcome pack? If so what are they. I gotta work up a game plan on how mad I am about losing????????

I got $10 off for 10 months. They had to transfer me to an account specialist. First they offered starz for a month, then $5 off for 6 months
