Dish Network Corp. (DISH) founder Charlie Ergen said he may permanently drop Time Warner Inc.

As a sports fan, I still feel we pay to much money to athletes and actors. I am just as willing to watch two second rate teams play hard baseball against each other, and put a show on for me, then watch a top star, not be able to show his full potential every single week, because of lack of competition, and gets laZy. We should pay athletes similar to MMA and boxers. You are mostly paid on your individual performance each time you step out there. Bet Romo would throw less interceptions.

They need to wear the big boy pants and talk like adults here for both sides
But Turner needs to know that not every provider can bend over and take it as they pleased
and pretend that customers are not noticing.

Turner Classic Movies is what I miss. Shouldn't they be OBLIGED to give us a rebate since a NUMBER of channels are off now? I mean it's NOT what I signed up for so I'm NOT getting what I agreed to nor what I'm paying for. Contrct violation between Dish and me? YES!

In Puerto Rico Liberty cable tv drop all Viacom channels, the impact was minimal.

In my house we have Dish and Directv, My parents see TBS and TNT because have SAP in spanish. Like FX.

The bad side of this Dish's story is that next year (February?) will be raised the bill again. Will be decrease the bill as reward to remove the Turner channels?

The funny thing is that Liberty in PR dropped all Viacom channels quite a while back...& it seems they have dropped them for good as Liberty had shown no interest in getting Viacom channels back...and apparently most of Liberty customers don't care at all. This shows that how much value Viacom "SUITE" of channels brings to a bundle (not only for Liberty but probably applies to other providers also).

Time for Turner to find out whats their "SUITE" of channels are worth to Dish subscribers.

As I told...I will miss TNT (for NBA mostly) and TBS for syndicated shows. Will I cancel Dish and move...no way. I will love to hold Charlie on his words and not increase the rates next Feb. That will be great.

I imagine the contract has a clause or two concerning the changing of terms, both programming and price.

HBO was belong of Time Warner, What happens if Time Warner does not accept to renew HBO/MAX channels for this action? HBO and Cinemax is important for customer or TNT/CNN/CN/ect. ?

I remember a LONG time ago (90's) a cable company that cover the south of Puerto Rico, there not offered HBO and Cinemax in their channels line up, even not nicklelodeon.

They showed some pretty decent classic horror movies within the last 10 days leading up to Halloween this year.

I'm wondering what impact dropping TBS could have on the MLB (and others) TV agreement. Based on the lost viewers MLB might want to renegotiate with Turner as might the NBA and NCAA. It has the potential to get really nasty. This is the risk these major sports take when they switch from broadcast networks to cable networks that have no OTA capabilities and are at the mercy, if you will, of secondary carriers such as satellite and cable providers. It's all well and good for networks like TBS to negotiate expensive TV rights to MLB post-season games but if the secondary carriers balk they're stuck because all the leverage is with the carrier. It's not a well thought out business model. This is going to be interesting to watch how this plays out.

I just called them to ask about getting a price reduction since they've removed channels from my 250 pack and not added in new ones. They offered $5 a month for three months as long as I promise not to leave. Or what? They'll ask for $10 back? I told them to buzz off and started looking at new services.

If DirecTV didn't have the stupid sports packages included with everything and I could get a price reduction to have the removed, that would be ideal. This is getting ridiculous. I have to count on TV for my business and I with these fake contract negotiations, I'm always in flux. So sick of it.

It amazes me that a package that has "everything" (which is essentially what I have with all pay channels) goes from $129.99 to 168.99 with Blockbuster channels (not included in everything, meaning everything isn't everything), superstations, DVR service fee, protection plan ad taxes. Then they play with the lineup. Unfair.

I can't stand seeing that they are breaching people's contracts with this Bs. Please. Someone, quote the part of the commitment that ensured these channels, or any channels, and explain to me, using the actual contract and RSA, how a breach took place.
The more accurate description would be "dish pissed me off with this, and I don't like it". Just because it sucks, and you're not happy about it, does not mean a breach took place. Quite the opposite. It is very clearly stated in the commitment and RSA that this is a possibility, including within a term commitment. If throwing accusations out, atleast throw out the correct accusation.

Although I don't have Dish anymore, I hope they come to an agreement for their customers soon, like some of them here. I really hardly watch the left-leaning CNN or HLN, but I watch Cartoon Network amd Boomerang a lot, and truTV and TCM sometimes. I also watch TBS and TNT sometimes.

AJA is great. I think with Trutv off, the intelligence of dish customers may go up. And Cartoon Network hasn't been relevant for years with their materially. They are either easily replaced by other channels, and adult swim can be replaced with online viewing. There is nothing of significance that can't be replaced by substitutes.
