NFL Network Dispute? -- Resolved

So another fan boy that turns it personal when facts come out on the table.
I got ya, God Have mercy on me?

What's respect is standing up to the man that takes your money.

Yep your definitely going to Heaven,
I got news for you, Charlie is not GOD

You look at him saving you money, I look at him as taking mine and your money and not paying the bills with it.

No. Not turning it personal when facts hit the table. You have presented no argument, and I have several PMs agreeing with such.

It may be hard to understand this, but I can seperate my feelings from the facts... Your hatred there does not allow you that comfort. There are some folks on this board that can support exactly what I'm talking about, specifically to you, where I even was asking for something for you, while I still did not agree with you personally... So if you really want to go there, I actually don't mind you most the time, and you do provide valuable insight, but tonight and the last few nights you have been intolerable. Period.

I'm so glad you have several PM discussing me lol.
I bet I can name them.

The difference is , if they actually had anything to say in regards of the topic, it would be posted in the forums.
A circle of giggly school girls isn't exactly something I would Bragg about.
Many members also have displayed their disapproval of many of the details I've described .
Problem is the fantastic 5 comes in and beats the crap out of their posts so bad, they can't get a word in edge wise.

Is that fair?
Again if you have no issues with your service, we'll that's great.
Maybe from now on we can have 2 threads for every dispute.
One that supports Dish's decision and one that doesn't.
Problem solved.

He is negotiating for higher profits..not lower prices

While that ignores the part of my post that DISH has been adding channels to lower tiers from the higher tiers you are partially correct. It's the job of companies/CEO's to maximize profits no argument there. But the mistake you make is that it is at the exclusion of lower prices. Still to this day most want to just ignore how much less DISH can cost, if you choose it to, than just about anyone else and much less than Directv. DISH charges much less to those who either can't afford or just don't want 4, 5, 6, + receivers or the newer equipment. So to apply what you said, yes they maximize profits with the Hopper for many reasons among them to get back the R&D costs and because people are willing to pay more for new technology, and that's in most any business. But where I disagree with what you said is that DISH does appear to be keeping well below what others are charging if you use the VIP equipment and DISH has been adding channels to the lower tiers that you could only get in the higher tiers for better value and allowing some to drop a tier.

Dish doesn't really cost that much less no matter how many disputes he has..no matter how much koolaid you drink..the focus has always be on profit and not lowering or even keeping prices low

Yes, DISH really can cost that much less, you are wrong and I have proved it in previous posts easy to do if you really want to know.

Charlie has no NY RSN's, now fighting with the NFL network, and the other dispute with locals. Every other month it's a new dispute with this company. For all of the dusputes, Dish should be half the cost of D* or cable, but that just isn't the case. A comparable package with what I have with D* might save me a couple of bucks a month, but it just isn't worth the aggravation.

Can you point me to a single provider that has a smaller fee for a single (dual tuner) receiver?
It's not the 1 room DVR systems that unreasonable.

It's when you start adding DVR rooms.

I Know the price of a single VIP 722 is cheap.
But most customers never ever see this option.
In fact I'd rather have a Single Hopper with my 1 room of service.
And that's $15 still cheaper then the competition.
But no one is denying Dish can be cheaper, But Directv can also come out on top.

Right now, if I drop all my Promos, Dish with my Internet cost $205.
Directv $209.
Cable with T6 Roamio $212.

But for the $4 more with Directv I would get all my RSNs in HD.
So again, it's a Wash across the board.
Hardly worth half these fights.

This. Not even from the NY area but like you said with all these disputes our bill should be 3/4th of what others are

So when you add more devices, Dish's price starts getting more in line with the competition.

Actually people are implying that Dish charges too much in fees and costs a bunch. But when compared to the competition, it isn't that way at all.

People just want to have the best receivers available (alot of them!) for little extra.

Well I'm not saying dish has fees. IMO dish fees are reasonable.
What unreasonable is the amount of savings that goes with these disputes.
Hardly Justifiable. IMO.

Go to DirecTV and be happy, you are clearly not happy with Dish and have made that abundantly clear.

I don't think it's a deal where he is very unhappy with Dish. I think it's more that he's (as well as many others) tired of listening to all the dish apologists telling everyone that Charlie is pulling channels to save us money when, really it's more about him making more cash for himself. Dish isn't much cheaper than any other provider (within $5 for my set-up) but if we were to believe all the apologists we're saving thousands thanks to good 'ol uncle Charlie. He doesn't give two $hits about you and me and for anyone to have incredible allegiance to one tv provider over another is mind boggling. Just my $0.02 (would have been $0.03 if I was with Directv).

My setup would have been a difference of $23/month, with less features. That equates to $276/year which is significant. Even in yours, that's $60 savings in a year. For some, the savings is even more. And since DTV changed their extra tv fees to $7/receiver, the more receivers you have, doesn't close the gap at all. You can get an H3 with 7 Joeys, for $15+$7x7, or with DTV(he only advantage) is you can have individual receivers at the location.
