It being one of the few receivers that can get these problem channels, I see that X2 has now raised the price of their M1HD on eBay from $39.95 to $99.95! That's a 150.19% increase!

Being a little PO'ed at this I contacted X2 via eBay yesterday to see what they would say regarding why the price had gone up so high. I figured I would not get a reply. I checked my messages this morning and I actually did get one the same day. Here is what they said:

It's up to $199.95 on eBay now so I'm guessing they really don't want anyone to buy one yet it says only 91% have sold. I won't hold my breath but I'm hoping they at least still come out with the editor.

I ordered mine from China. It took about 3 weeks to get them. Can't use the tracking number due to them being at sea. You won't know where they are until they arrive in America. I thought I'd sell the two I got, then I figured about time I did, they'd come up with a freeware update that would fix the stuttering.
I'd think you could take the specs off the wall wart that came with it and find one with the right voltage and amp rating and make it work as long as the plug configuration and polarity were the same.
Yeah that is the old trick on eBay to save your spot. Say you have an item and have sold a couple hundred or so.
It looks good when you are selling something, especially if you have competition.
If you have sold 289 and the other guy has sold 5 and you both are the same price; customers are more likely to go with the one that has sold the most.
If you run out and your listing ends and then you get in new stock and relist your item, everything is reset. Number sold, item views, etc.
So you jack the price way up to the point no one will buy it to hold everything like it is. When the new stock arrives you drop the price back to normal.
People also do this for a similar product.
Say you have a receiver the X1000 and you sell out and and new one is released the X2000.
You just go in and change the title to X2000 and tada!!, it appears you have sold hundreds, when you just got the item in and it is new to the market.
The thing is for sometime now, eBay added the ability to have your product drop to Quantity 0 and not end and lose are your prestige, and not have to go in and do the silly price raise thing.
I still see people do it all the time though.

Since the voltage input on all those wall warts are 100-250V or there a bouts. I have a drawer full of them.
If the input on the receiver is 12 volt, get a Belkin backup they issue for AT&T Uverse. It'll replace your wall wart needs. We have a thread about those somewhere on this site. I run my Amiko, my Tablo TV PVR, and a few other items on these, and it helps you keep the clock time and timers, too! (which I have not found a receiver good-at yet.)......They're common at garage sales now and on Ebay. Usualy cheap in person. We usually don't give over $5 for 'em and you've got a degree of protection from surges built in this way!

Yeah, an adaptor is the cheaper route to go and some Chinese STBs come with one, my X2 Premium Mini did.
Yeah, I've seen some items with ridiculus prices on eBay so that's what the sellers were doing. I assume when the price comes down again the auction title will be changed to reflect the new model's name. I wonder what additional features the new receiver will have that the old one that's apparently being abandoned did not?
Unfortunately, since the vendors on Amazon are still showing the Freesat V7 to be in stock it appears those price jumps are actual selling price jumps.
I must have a hundred of those wall warts. I rarely throw one away when I junk a piece of equipment. Have to be careful though when you need one for a video camera. The tolerance on cameras is pretty narrow and if you don't use one that's regulated, you can trash a camera. I know, I did that earlier this summer. Came on, flashed one time and went off. My wife fried a 3.7 volt battery for my Nebo flashlight. She thought she was being helpful and hooked up a 12 volt charger for my big flashlight and burned the end off the battery.
I've got a pile of these things lying around I'd give someone just to get rid of of them. They are various voltages and amperage ratings. I have no idea how much electric is being sucked up with the ones I'm using. I can think of about 15 or more of them that are plugged in all the time. I could probably cut my electric bill in half by unplugging them or putting them on a master switch.

I hope it is something. A lot of times though it is just cosmetic changes, just to sell a different model.
I hope GeoSat takes my advice and adds the 4.3PS aspect ratio setting to their upgrade for the HDVR 3500. I still haven't been able to get the screen on my televisions to fill out since they left it out of the settings on this model. I have three big screen TV's and it does the same thing on all three. I sent an email to Eugene at GeoSat and he said to call him, but all I get is his voice mail. I never got a reply on the last two emails I sent him. One of the TV's is brand new. I bought it two or three weeks ago just to see if it cured the problem.
I did speak with one of their technicians a while back and he asked me to try something, but it didn't work either. Not sure what to do at this point. When I go back to the HDVR 1200, the problem goes away.
Kinda peculiar quoting my own earlier post but I wanted to update the situation. I got around to opening the box today and lo & behold there is a heatsink already on the chip. I went ahead and removed the metal screen from inside the top cover though. That screen is so fine it almost has to restrict airflow somewhat so hopefully removing it will help.
My receiver sits right below a ceiling fan and so far I haven't seen any heat issues. You would have thought someone at the factory would have anticipated heat problems with such a small case.
After fiddling a couple of hours with the Freesat V7 today without having any heat problems I think I can safely say that removing that screen has eliminated the problem.
I'm glad you got it sorted out for the heat problem.
Have not had that same experience here with ours, and have been keeping a keen eye out just in case, but so far it has worked exceptionally well.
