I have purchased $hundreds off Amazon without thinking of the benefit I could bring to SG by coming here first. I just spent $62 on more computer memory for my daughter's new computer off Amazon, and then came here second. Argh!

Is there a handy/dandy URL that I could put on my desktop and use whenever I want to buy something on Amazon? I do come here a lot, but a desktop URL would be a better solution for me, if it could be made to work.

I have that as a Bookmark in my main browser. I try to use it whenever I go to Amazon.

Good God! How on earth do you make a URL over 1/2 MB?

Well, I clicked on that link and it brings up a SG page. I saved the Amazon link on that SG page to my desktop, but it does not work. How was I supposed to make a URL of this Amazon link on my desktop, and get it actually to go to Amazon (it apparently does that) and make a workable page (which it does not). The URL in my browser location shows file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Desktop/Amazon.htm rather than executing that 1/2MB URL.

I just dragged and dropped the link from Scott's post(#2) to my desktop and as I recall it was only 1.2k.I deleted it already tho,as I've become very anti amazon of late.

Wait till someone hijacks your account and changes the password. it happened to a few weeks ago and it was incredibly hard to get things fixed.

That happened to me on Amazon year before last and it took me forever to get it straitened out. Everyone should go to secure verification on your Amazon account. That was the only way I finally got rid of the hacker.

One our our employees had her identity stolen. Again. She fell for a phone phishing scam from security at her “bank.” They cleaned her out.

She’s one of our accountants.....

How to create a shortcut on the desktop (Windows) without dragging anything:

1. Right click on the desktop and select New -> Shortcut
2. Enter the following URL (without spaces): https : // www . satelliteguys . us / amazon.html
3. Click Next and name your shortcut. Something like "Support SatelliteGuys", click Finish.

Not a problem for me,haven't bought anything or even logged in to amazon in years now.And the card that was on the account no longer exists.
The link drag was just a test for The Krell.
