New Software Coming Tonight

If you press the voice button it asks to install google assistant; Dish version appears to be a thing of the past

Nuts! So, now I get to tell Google everything I'm doing with my TV. My 40 is looking better and better all the time.

I asked Google Assistant to find me something interesting to watch.... This is what I got....

It didn't pick something off dish (new logo).

This its NOT the case. Not sure who told you that.
They are still working on it.
The release on the tech portal states: As a reminder, new software will be released to all Hopper family receivers on 07/31/19, which will enable new functionality to DISH’s set top boxes. The primary updates allow the new 54.1 remotes to integrate with Google Voice assistant, as well as allowing multiple Hoppers to have a Hopper Snap on one account.

I use Google Chrome vs Microsoft's browser. I only use Alexa to play music. Have not found Alexa has any other functions that work properly. I use a Harmony remote for my TV system. None of the voice systems work properly, just half a**. I tried Alexa on Prime delivery notifications and get the notification 30-60 minutes after I have the package and opened it up.

I'm assuming that's the same people that put those notes out for thousands of techs to see. Might want to let them know.

Apparently different people or teams. I'm hearing the same thing as Scott and Partysox that's it's not been fixed. And that comes from people who definitely know.

I'm guessing you'll see a correction soon™. :)

Not trying to stir the pot too much, but are you guys saying that the tech portal news is coming from people that don't know what they're talking about??

Probably just a misunderstanding. I've seen this happen before when something doesn't get in a release that was maybe intended to be included. :)

PPV Movies?
