Motorola DSR405

I purchased a Motorola DSR405 (Starchoice) from a second hand store for my father-in-law who is a starchoice subscriber. The previous owner set the password.

Is there a way to set the receiver back to factory default to reset the password?

Just have SC do a master reset when he calls to get the unit added to his account.

FYI SC said that they can do this BUT may not allow the reciever to be used if it has a negative history. When I call them with the S/N I will find out if I wasted money.
Hope not.

Which is why one should always call the S/N into SC before purchasing used receivers.

yes if you get the serial number, *c is very happy to tell you if you can acttivate the receiver, if not I would ask for my money back.
