It seems like a lot of us with HD only channels are looking for specific channels to go HD just to get a few shows. So what about a channel that just has the shows everybody loves -- throw it in Platinum and you might get a few subscribers. So what shows would it have? I'd start the list...

Really enjoying Dish too. So tired of vitriolic complainers. Would you believe that Charlie Egan is just a guy trying to run a company that has to balance customer service with the bottom line and that adding HD channels isn't as easy as putting in your order.

I don't think black bars on top or bottom is actually an option, except when an SD channel is broadcast that way. By default, the HD feed is squashed into an SD screen, but you have the option to cut off the extra width so the picture isn't squished or zoom in further (which cuts off the black...

I was going to suggest a slingbox/slingcatcher combo for a cable-less solution, but the tubes tell me the slingcatcher only outputs in SD. Looks like it has HDMI output though so maybe a future software update will allow HD output. Anyway -- for the cost of the slingcatcher and the slingbox HD...

What about the new remote Dish Network is planning soon (may be out already) -- $20 and if it doesn't have a code you need you can program it with the TV's remote.

For recordings you know you'll probably watch before the next episode, try limiting saved recordings to 1 or 2 via the options menu on the timer. Then you don't have to delete anything manually.

So the installer never showed. I've called him a few times and now he isn't returning my calls. So I did tech chat on DishNetwork.com and did pretty well with CSR roulette. Said they would send someone to get me fixed up and even to replace the new wingdish and the old maindish with a 1000.4...
