    VIP DVR Price Increase

I have 1 TV. I'm still on a VIP722. Back in the day, I remember looking into the Hopper and there were 1-2 things that were deal-breakers for me. It was so long ago I can't remember anymore what they were. But I've really had no desire to upgrade. However as the prices go up and up, and the...

    Dish Anywhere for PC?

Although browser-based, it's unfortunate that it requires Mac or Windows.

Dish Anywhere App "Your Device isn't compatible with this version"

I would wonder that your Android version is either too old, or too new. What version of Android are you on now?

    DishAnywhere + Linux?

In my book, you're not watching DishAnywhere in Linux then. You're watching it in Windows and then channeling that Windows output into a window in your Linux session. Many of us want a clean Linux environment without the taint or hassle of dealing with hacked-in Windows components...

    Dish Anywhere and the Roku

Who said we want it for free? Make it a $5-10 Roku app. What I'm complaining about is there's NO Roku app. I don't want to be dependent on a middleman Android device, nor do I want to spend $200+ per TV to add a computer (when every TV already has a Roku). Stop demonizing the people who...

    Internet Options Thru Dish

Cold Irons has the truth of it. Satellite internet is an absolute last resort only if there is no other option available. It is slow, and expensive with extremely high latencies and restrictive data caps. I would get slower DSL over satellite internet. I'd probably even suffer through a cable...

    Dish Anywhere and the Roku

Sure, there are all sorts of solutions if money is no object. Including buying additional $200 clients per TV just so people can watch Dish. I don't consider that reasonable, given the immense popularity of the Roku platform. There are channels for everything else on Roku... but not Dish...

Dish Continues to Lose Pay-TV Subscribers

With PITA management and access to DVR content, and higher and higher fees with fewer worthwhile channels in the packages, Dish will probably lose us soon as well. I wouldn't mind paying $70-80/mo if I was getting dozens of channels I actually cared about. The real number is probably under 10.

    DishAnywhere + Linux?

Linux user here. Last I knew it didn't work. It required a Windows/Mac browser plug-in. Dish doesn't care about you otherwise. Has stopped mattering for us as Dish's cumbersome and restrictive means for managing DVR content has pushed us to other solutions and making us less and less of a Dish...

    Dish Anywhere and the Roku

I have one. But users' 12"-14" computer screens are pathetic to the 40"+ TVs they have. The WD Live is hardly a viable or supported platform. It's flakey and outdated. The Roku is what's current. Promoting a WD Live Sling app is like promoting a Blackberry or Palm app. The issue here is Dish...

    Dish Anywhere and the Roku

No. I might pay once for the app, but once you start talking a reoccurring fee that cumulatively adds up year to year, then I factor that into the TCO of my being a Dish customer which only further hurts the equation at a time when they are seriously on the cusp of being kicked to the curb in...

    Dish Anywhere and the Roku

Oh how we'd love a Dish Anywhere app for Roku in our house. Everyone has their own Roku plus one in the living room. Sadly, Dish is clueless here. This is actually one of the 2 huge reasons we're hardly using Dish anymore. The other is only being able to store one copy of recorded files. Look...

Poor PQ from Dish on Demand???

Where do I sign up? As long as I can choose the channels, I'll gladly part with about 75% of them. Even the ones I used to like got changed... for example, the programming that used to be on The History Channel got moved to H2, which is two packages up. Same with The Discovery Channel (the...

Poor PQ from Dish on Demand???

I already got nicked for another +$5/mo. for 0 added benefit when they just decided to up everyone's charges. Still bitter about that, I have no interest for voluntarily taking on another +$5/mo. charge for again no added benefit. What would I get? Nicer looking menus? Not worth +$60/yr. I'd...

Poor PQ from Dish on Demand???

I have 1 TV. I get no benefit from migrating to the Hopper and paying the higher monthly fees. On top of that, I remember a number of features that the 722 did better than the Hopper (or that were simply not present in the Hopper) which further deterred me from bothering. I can't remember the...
