The SD will be the same on an HD box as on a SD box. If you watch a lot of SD, then you might want to stick with the cable. HD, however, looks great on D*.

Mine does the same thing. I just change channels by entering the number & it will switch resolution.

Well, I'm going back to D* again after 18 mos. of Dish. If Dish would tell us what their plans are for HD, I might be tempted to hang around a while longer & give them a chance. But it looks to me like they are tapped out until they get up new sats. Otherwise they would be adding new channels...

I have 4 HDTV's in various rooms. I have tried HDMI & component on all four. One looks better using HDMI. The other three look better with component. Try both. Use the connection that looks best. Every combo is different.

I got the corrupted hard drive message this morning, too. Pressed OK & it rebooted, all recordings intact, but still 3.66.

My Pocketdish has locked up my 622 during the upload twice now. Had to do a reboot on the 622 each time to restore the 622 to an operable state. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a 50PX60U, a 42PX60U & a 37PX50U ALL on Dish HD. They are fabulous displays! You will be very happy with yours. Burn-in is a VERY over stated problem with these new plasmas. It's not unusual to get a little image retention now & then, but this is temporary whereas burn-in is...

I would LOVE to have Cinemax HD!!!!

Best to put a UPS on any device with a hard drive. I use one on my 622 & electrical flickers don't bother it. A $50 300VA is enough.

Made the switch to Dish in June. Very happy so far. Better SD & HD pq on Dish than D*. D* would need to really improve to ever get me back.

TV2 does SD & HD as a modulated RF output on a channel of your choice. Because it uses NTSC format, everything from TV2's output on RF is 480i. But if you record an HD broadcast on TV2's tuner, you can watch it on TV1 in true HD. Everything recorded from either TV1, TV2 & off-air tuner is...

I'm near St. Louis & have a Dish1000 with no issues on 129. My 622 has been flawless, but not as software convenient as my old D* HD TiVo. Overall, E* is enough better for me than D* to put up with the lack of a few features that TiVo has. Ideally, E*+TiVo would be primo!!
