    Dish problem...

When I see "downloading program guide" as often as it seems you do, I think the unit is bad. It could be the signal affecting the program guide, but if that were the case you would have a very hard time watching any TV. On other hand, with the dish and cabling deal you discribed, that also...

Does anyone recognise this antenna ?

It is called a phased array flat panel design, or uses a series of reflectors focus the signal in-wards to a central point. Much the same way a Fresnel lens on a traffic stop light (prior to LED) . allows a small bulb to seem so bright over the whole area of the lens. They had something...

    LNB feed combiner/multiplexer?

NO. You can get bandstackers to cut some of that down, but since I have no idea what type of LNBs you are using or what your polarity needs might be, I cannot give you more information. How many receivers are you using? and does each receive need access to all those feeds?

    Site running slow?

I have seen some issues with the in-line content advertising. Sometimes it takes a while to load the page. Not as long as 30 seconds, but this site does run much slower than most. Too much advertising at times. Norton's is not much a spyware tool and most of those free spyware programs are...

Moving sat. post off roof questions

Installers who leave the mast base on the roof do not do so to make sure it does not leak, they leave it there so they do not have to be responsible in case it does leak. Plus, they do not want to take the time to remove the base and seal the holes. The question you should ask is not how do...

    Satellite safety

Depending the transmit power, you can be harmed if you are in the path for extended periods. If you are in the path, the dishes cannot be used, and little transmission takes place. Sort of a self correcting situation. The bottom line is you should stay out of the signal path. If you decide you...

Wiring new house - have questions LONG

Your electrician CANNOT install a ground just for phone and satellite unless he also bonds that ground rod to the primary electrical ground with at least a #6 copper wire. All ground rods must be bonded together. I am sure he knows this, but maybe not. The cables that run from the dish are...

Question for HSP and DNSC employee installers, not subs

Does DNSC and the HSP provide non-standard installations for an extra fee? I am not talking about standard pole mounts. I am taking about custom jobs that require extensive custom work. Work such as running 250 feet of RG-11 in conduit between buildings. Installs that require fall arrest gear...

Will Dish and DTV charge extra for local HDTV

Not all local channels will be HD in the future. The major networks will be, but some independants may only go digital and not invest in HD equipment.
