Seems the reason for the agreement was not the Super Bowl or the Olympics. It was this: Standard General in talks to acquire Tegna Stock shot up 7% on the news of this announcement and the agreement with Dish.

I do too but reading your original post I would have thought you were an Android guy. Dish moves in mysterious ways, but want to come back to Dish but don’t want to pay for a bunch of Joeys when I can use Apple TV on all my TV’s. Seems short sighted to me.

So, where are the other essays about why Dish Anywhere is not available on Chromecast or Roku as well? (I was searching to see if there were any updates on when Dish Anywhere would be available on Apple TV and was very amused by the comment above.)

They carry some Premier League games but most are still on NBCSN (soon to be USA). CBS all access has Champions League and FA Cup.

Seems to me that the rebranding is only successful if they get eyeballs watching games to advertise Bally. With the asset write down that Sinclair took, and the naming rights revenue, I can see them going back to providers with much more reasonable terms.

I was a 20 year Dish customer and cut the cord earlier this year. Fox Sports was the game breaker. I went Hulu Live and like the service. Besides the programming being cheaper, I no longer have to pay the additional receiver fees. Basically, I have Hulu Live, Netflix, Amazon Prime, CBS All...

I was seriously looking at Sling but the lack of locals was the issue. I can get locals over antenna, but I like the idea of them being integrated. Also, the Air2 apparently does not work with Apple TV. So, it will end up being YouTube Live for me.

Sinclair still has to service the debt from the purchase of the RSN’s from Disney.

Sinclair is in danger of getting checkmated. The only streaming service that carries them now is Hulu. With Comcast negotiation coming up soon, they are going to be forced to make a reasonable deal. If not, what are they going to say? “Go to Direct TV or Hulu”? In other words, overpay or go...
