I have the DSI Sg2100 rotor and is modded and uses an external power supply, but it only runs at the speed when fed high V vs Low v from the tuner and is still way too slow for my taste. I want it to go between any two sats within ~1-2 seconds. That is just not possible with stock motor/gearing.

I wanted to build my own rotor for my small dish mainly because off the shelf units are so slow. They have to use small motors because they are assumed to depend on the tuner for power. But I have an outlet close to the dish. I wanted to make one that could do the full sweep in a couple seconds...

The signal went down about 4 days ago. Web site is also down. Anyone hear what's going on?

I know this is an old thread. I have this same motor and it has gotten flaky about going one direction. My first thought was a bad relay. But when testing running it while open, I found the one relay clicks only faintly when the motor doesn't move and loud when it does. I can feel the snap...

That small/far away, it's not likely you would have heard it. Here in the desert we have a number of small insects that could show up like that, a cicada for example, about an inch long. But it's the wrong time of year for any of them.

Just a thought about the wire if you get a lot of sun shine. When looking at wire I found white is not UV protected, Black is as a general rule. I have no idea about blue, but if it doesn't have UV protection, the sun makes quick work of it. I ran some white awhile back and it lasted 9 months...

They seem to have picked an unknown company who doesn't even have a product out yet. When you click products, it only list 1 and that is "coming soon". Not a very good choice.

When I look at the lyngsat tp list, I often see TP's that are just below the listed range of "standard". That doesn't mean standard won't get them.

I would go universal over standard, but not worry about circular for now. You are more likely to need a universal then a circular since circular seems to be the realm of the propriatary/pay.
