I called dish today to shutoff my HD Platium and I could'nt get a live CSR? I had to do it via touch tones and voice commands?

Is there downsizing at DISH?? I had no problem with my change but weird not to have a live person on the other end.

I called a few times in the past week and after the initial computer I just said the word "Representative" and was connected with someone ASAP. :)

LOL! Maybe it will assume control of Dish: Just a moment... just a moment... I'm sorry Charlie, I just can't arbitrarily raise prices again and continue adding nuisance fees.

what's the problem, HAL?

If I remember right, Dish is phasing out that number. The other toll free exchanges (866, 888 and probably others) were bought up by Direct TV, so when someone would call to order Dish, if they didn't dial "800" and would dial another toll free exchange, they would get a Direct rep, who would try to switch them. Dish has a new number, but I can't think of it right now, but they have all the exchanges covered this time.

You are exactly right. The number I posted just before is the new one.
