MLB Extra Innings Now Available

According to Scott, they have the bandwidth they need right now, but for the growth plan, yes they have something already in the works. They are removing those legacy receivers to open up bandwidth. They also sent out a new satellite, but from what I read, it was a backup satellite, not a primary. Which makes sense to use these multi billion dollar satellites to their full life expectancy.
I read somewhere that Dish has a satellite scheduled for launch at the end of December, but that one is for replacement/backup purposes. In any event, I assume the newer satellites generally have greater bandwidth/capacity than their predecessors.

Hopefully this means Dish also has an agreement to be one of the providers that can authenticate through MLB.tv. In other words, MLB.tv subscribers who also subscribe to the appropriate tier Dish package will be able to watch their local team's games on MLB.tv without being blacked out.

Last season I had mlb.tv thought it was ok but would of rather had extra innings. Does anyone know if it's back just for this season or a longer term deal?

I don't see DISH listed. (Yet?) If it is included I guess that makes the cost to also watch from your TV provider at about $70, about $12 a month over the online only package.

As for Yankees or Mets (Or for any RSN not carried) I would think you get the games unless two teams games not carried by DISH are playing each other. (Yankees Mets no, Yankees Red Sox you would)
If it's like Center Ice, MLB provides the SD feed. So if it's Yankees and Mets, either YES or SNY in SD only. Dish provides HD for RSNs that they carry

I just logged into my Dish Network account, and under Order Pay Per View, MLB Extra Innings is there! $195.00. Channel 625. Listed as "MLB Extra Innings Residential Package 2015" Looks like Scott's Rumor was correct!
No sh!t?!!!! I gotta check that out. I was going to buy the MLB.tv premium for $119....

Not that it matters for me (as I have AT200 and MS) but I wonder if it includes MLB Network and Strike Zone as well? Also curious about Mets and Yankees games. Will they show their feeds? Will they be SD only if they do or will they show only the feed of the team they are playing against (ex: the Twins feed when the Yankees play them)? Will they show both teams feeds for a game or only one?
With the cat fight Dish decided to quit with MSG, YES and SNY, the NYC Feeds will most likely only appear is the Mets and Yankees face each other.
At least that is how the presentation is on NHL CI....
The Devils, Rangers and Islanders all broadcast on MSG....It is very rare for a Dish customer to see an MSG feed. Same goes for Buffalo Sabres viewers. They get the opposing team's feed.

When I use MLB.TV's "Blackout Locator" it gives me a list of 2 teams that I will be blocked from seeing. When I type in my zip code, it gives me a list of 4 teams that I will be blocked from seeing. It's all the difference in the world for me, because my team is one of the two that is caught in the zip code listing. Should I risk buying mlb.tv because it says according to my computer that I will only be blocked from 2 teams?

"MLB.TV authentication is coming soon with your MLB EXTRA INNINGS subscription."

Any bets on the date of "coming soon"?

Probably to be expected based on the other packages (CI, LP) but my brother is a Welcome Pack subscriber and was told it would include MLB Network year round as well. Big deal for him and would sweeten the deal for a baseball fan with only Welcome or Smart Packs.

Welcome Package may include the MLB Network. What they mean is it will allow you to subscribe to EI as you can now to NBA Pass and CI and get it I suppose.

DISH Now Offering MLB EXTRA INNINGS

• Authenticated MLB.TV access with MLB EXTRA INNINGS
• Renews long-term carriage of MLB Network
• Includes digital rights for MLB Network and MLB Network Strike Zone

NEW YORK & ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- DISH Network L.L.C., Major League Baseball (MLB) and MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM) have reached a wide-ranging multi-year agreement that includes the launch of MLB EXTRA INNINGS on DISH, including authenticated access to the #1 LIVE streaming sports service, MLB.TV. The deal also sets the stage for in-market streaming of MLB games in the future. DISH and MLB Network also reached a multi-year renewal agreement for continued carriage of MLB Network and MLB Network Strike Zone, including digital rights for those channels on DISHAnywhere.com and via the DISH AnywhereTM app.

"We're excited that DISH customers will continue to have access to exclusive games and the latest news and analysis with MLB Network and MLB Network Strike Zone," said Rob McGlarry, MLB Network president.
"We're pleased to expand our relationship with MLB Network," said Warren Schlichting, DISH senior vice president of programming. "MLB EXTRA INNINGS is a must-have for displaced fans, and we're excited to offer it in time for the season to begin."

The agreement provides a path for consumers to have authenticated access to stream live in-market games on digital properties from MLB, local programmers and pay-TV providers. In-market live streaming would require additional agreements between the parties including DISH, MLBAM and programmers with local TV rights of MLB games.

MLB Network (channel 152) will continue to be available starting in DISH's America's Top 200 programming package as well as in Multi-Sport Pack. MLB Network Strike Zone (channel 153) will continue to be available in Multi-Sport Pack.
MLB EXTRA INNINGS (channel 476 on DISH's Hopper® Whole-Home HD DVR, starting on channel 900 for customers with other set-top-boxes) will be in free preview for all DISH customers starting Opening Day, April 6-12. MLB EXTRA INNINGS is available for the 2015 season for $195, and subscribers to the package will soon have access to the Technology & Engineering Emmy Award winning MLB.TV. This enables authenticated subscribers to watch every out-of-market game LIVE or on-demand on more than 400 supported devices.

Financial terms were not disclosed.
