Here we go again......... This looks like it's going to affect many markets if no agreement is reached soon. The best work around is to go OTA until the dust settles. Unfortunately, the EPG is rendered useless for the OTA version of the pulled channel.

Nothing blu here, but I enjoyed Blaze in HD and was hoping it would remain that way after the dispute.

I wonder if this indicates a long, drawn out battle is likely. While having the Blaze in HD is an improvement, I'm still gonna miss my FNC.

    12/20/2014 21:13 - Uplink Report - 40 Changes

Fox wants to jack up the rates for News and Sports and then paints DISH as the bad guy for holding the line. You gotta love it. This one more shining example of how we all end up paying for those outrageous, multi-million dollar, A-Rod-type contracts. The money has to come from SOMEWHERE and...

Also, why place what looks like a boatload of local PBS affiliates in SD on CONUS transponders?

Does it make any sense to place a Local station on a CONUS transponder? Seems like a huge waste of capacity with a possible FCC violation. I wish we were able to receive "Distant Locals" from the Network O&Os, but the government put a stop to that long ago.

I don't plan to be a fan, but I expected to see Ch. 215 change from Current TV to Aljazeera America. The EPG lists the new programming but the channel name is now a blank. Seems rather odd......

WOW! Lots of deck shuffling. I couldn't help but notice Chicago & Denver HD locals are now CONUS.........

I see..... It's all starting to make sense now. This just proves once again, what a valuable learning tool the Internet can be.

Any idea why they would do this? It looks like musical chairs with no perceived change.

Well, If I gotta pay more, those channels had better be in HD......at least Sundance and IFC. I won't watch ANY movie made since 1920 (give or take) in SD.

Why "Abelene"? Is this the alphabetically first Gannett market with the slates intended for all Gannett affected markets?

I too, have OTA on my ViP 722, but that rule has got to go. The whole point of that rule is to protect the local affiliate by establishing an exclusive local territory (monopoly?) whereby no other station can encroach. But if Gannett chooses to willingly block viewers from accessing their...

    10/5/2012 4:32pm - Uplink Activity Report - 12 changes

So what happens if the stations are blacked out? Is there a legal work around whereby Dish can offer subscribers in that city a distant local until the issue is resolved? Or does the stupid FCC rule to "protect" the local affiliate stand, even when they are the ones who willingly pulled their...

Ditto. I would love to have access to (and willing to pay a reasonable fee for) distant HD network channels from other markets. Sometimes my local affiliates rearrange schedules, screw up the audio and do other dumb things. Plus, I might want to check out local news in other markets like LA...

Does anyone else find it interesting that they keep juggling around the Distant Network channels? They move from bird to bird but are never available. There must be some grand plan in the works.

Clearly, it can support HD. Once upon a time, before 129 was flying, 118 was used to provide HD locals to St. Louis, Pittsburgh and a handful of other cities. It worked fine but required the special dish that could pull in it's signal.

Anyone have a "CLOO" what the PTAxx channels are on the 118 bird? I see they are in HD. Could this be foreign channels in HD?

Channel 5707 is a "FREE PREVIEW" of NIT in HD. Any idea what NIT is? This is AVAILABLE on the 118 Bird.

Thanks for the quick reply. So is it pointless to add a dish to 72.7 without fist asking them for approval? I was hoping it would just work. Just wondering if it's easier to add the single dish pointed to 72 (I have a spare) or to chop down the tree. (It's only one tall one).

Can we mix East and West Arcs? For example, I have a Dish 1000+ that sees 110, 119 and 129. But 129 has tree issues. If I add a single dish to my switch (I have one open port) and point it to 72.7, will I be able to pick up channels I usually get on 129 that are also there while keeping 110...

Will these be eventually mirrored on 129? One would think that will have to happen for true CONUS coverage, if this is going to actually come available to those who qualify.
