How is satellite placed on roof...?

According to Dish Network, the roof is the last place a dish is ever supposed to be mounted. They recommend a pole or wall mount. this of course will vary greatly from one installer/dealer to another.

New York City EAS on Sirius 80s?

I've heard a generic version on 6033 a few times (no city mentioned). I assumed it was for the nationwide EAS. Not sure what that would ever be used for considering EAS was never activated in new york on 9-11, I dont know what would possibly cause a nationwide EAS activation.

the 2 receiver requirement is for older legacy receivers connected to a DPP twin or the new dish 1000.2 LNB. The DP34 switch will work just fine with only 1 dishpro receiver connected.

sorry, I ddint really answer your question. If you ordered through E* directly and it was installed by DNS, the will send boxes. If it was through a dealer they will probably come out and pick up their boxes and dish.

just got dish and i am very dissapointed...can you shed some light?

Have you checked the manual or the menus on your TV to see if there are any settings for "MPEG" or "digital source". I realize that component video is not digital, but I have seen the option on several HD TV/monitors that improves the picture quality 100%. You may also have a bad receiver, is...

    30 day trial

I hope you went through E* directly and not a dealer. If you had a dealer install it and back out before 30 days the dealer eats the full cost of all receivers and the installation. Thats why we make customers sign an additional contract with us saying if they do not complete the contract as...

I'm going on 8 months also. I remailed copies of the form, along with the originals. I've emailed ceo@echostar 5 times, called the "rebate hotline" number 4 times now, and I still don't have any credits on my bill. Same story every time "it will appear on your next bill"

    Dish Internet

Are we talking about upstream or downstream here. the best dilup connection possible is 56K downstream and 33.6K upstream. roadrunner gives you (depending on your area) 3-6 meg down and 384 up Wildblue, as with any satellite internet is intended for people that live far enough outside...

Certain 148º Local Markets transitioning to the 110º

Remember people, there is nothing wrong with the 129 slot, it's the crippled gimpy satellite that is causing reception issues. The 129 orbital location is about the only choice e* has for a 3rd conus orbital location. DBS satellites need to be about 10 degrees apart. Since E* already has...

Certain 148º Local Markets transitioning to the 110º

remember, AK and HI cant not see 129, so they cant get any of the Voom chanels, or the newer HD channels. Maybe E* is finally going to give those customers all the HD the rest of us can get.

    International Channels Moving to 61.5/148

If you look carefully, I betcha most if not all of the channels "moving" have always been on 61.5 anyway, they are rem oving them from 121 and stopping dealers from installing more superdishes. Internationals started life on 61.5. Then along came 121 and the superdish. Someone decided "gee...

    HD Locals

The decision to add HD locals was based on several factors. 1 - they can only uplink so many HD channels from a given region 2 - the availability of HD OTA in that market (ie in some areas the entire DMA or nearly the entire DMA can receive the OTA signal with a set top antenna, in other...

What type of cable modem do they use in your area ??? From a customers computer try entering 192.168.100.1 in the web browser, that takes you to the cable modem diagnostics info. Somewhere in there they usually have the upstream and downstram channel or frequency listed.
