I'm not sure I would go for AMD over Intel in your situation. Generally I pick AMD over Intel, but for what you're doing I think I would get an I7 or a Xeon. The 9590 is a hot monster. Are you going to do virtualization at all?

I'm guessing by polar mount, they mean it goes on a pole. I'll bet it comes with an az/el mount.

Think there would be any problems putting it on a 3" pole? Also, how would the performance compare to a 1.2M Offset Ku dish?
