Hello everyone, Im from Los Angeles California and I am experiencing the same reboot problem on CBS channel 2........It has something to do with datacasting and I fear that all other channels will follow....... I went out and purchased the samsung 260 HD OTA for 169.00 dollars and it work great...

I just checked channel 28.1 KCET...... the reboot problem still occurs in the South Bay Los Angeles area....

....And to think I was considering to donate to KCET....

I just want to add to this forum that I as well cannot receive KCET HD.... VOOM STB reboots when I channel up or down or go directly to Channel 28.1.....this started to occur approx. 2 month ago and previously was getting channel 28.1 HD for over a year. I Emailed KCET about this and received...

The point im trying to make here is that the VOOM STB is superior quality tuner... not your average 199.00 tuner at walmart or kmart

I have read on other threads and different forums that the VOOM STB does a better job pulling in the signal compare to their tv receivers or other satalite OTA STB's ..put back the VOOM STB the same way as before...word is out that you can keep the VOOM STB even though you only leased...

The reasons is that the VOOM STB has a better tuner than your mitsubishi....put back the VOOM STB.....you will get better sygnal on the OTA...also your VOOM STB has a amplifier that improves the sygnal... Check other post on this tread for further information..I get all channels in this area...

HD broadcast will display in 16.9 only.... if your display is at letterbox or 4.3 format it is not in HD....make sure you are using component video cables to insure you get HD... if you use regular cables coxial or s video you will not see HD... if you are using component video cables then...

I think the two channels 9 and 13 are slowly making the transition to HD.....I was also able to use the zoom on channel 13 approx 2 weeks ago..but now it is locked in 1080 mode but the picture is in the 4.3 format...go to checkhd.com ocasionally and click on the channels 9 and 13 to see if HD...

I did a soft reboot.....hold down the power button few secounds.. because my STB froze.... also rescanned the channels everything is normal as before.... all local channels present....after reboot im glad it wiped out the stupid May 1 deadline..and Dish offer on the main screen...no program info..

agree.... use the component video... outstanding picture quality....some people prefer component over DVI and some DVI over component....It depends on each monitor how it process the signal.

Yes you do, on all of the STB it is a grey square box thats connects the dish and OTA simultaniously, remove the square box then youll see two connectors OTA on top right and dish lower left... connect to OTA only and your all set...again i dont know that this is a fact or fiction and i dont...

I dont know if this is fact or fiction.... i was told that you should disable your diplexor on the back of your STB and connect to the OTA only, before Voom sends a kill signal to your cards and disables the STB completely..if you stop the sat sygnal before Voom send the kill sygnal at least...

Sean, do you have any information about what will happen to all voomers that purchased their STB.....will they take it back and refund us, or dish will pick up the service..and continue in a modified way??

Thanks for the response......If this is true then thousands of us early HD adopters are screwed......also VOOM is screwed because I, and many others have no insentive to upgrade to their new DVR......its their loss in the end.
