There is no news on ant replacement, but both the 505 and 530 are mpeg4 capable with the addition of a user insert able mpeg4 card.

They are Cdn versions. Food Network has pretty much all of the American shows along with many Cdn ones (some are of very high quality). Discovery Canada is more like The Science Channel, but they still have many of the popular shows.

The CSR was 100% correct. Encore Avenue (HD) is only available in the West. In my guide, Movie Central and Encore Avenue do not show up.

A 505a is just a refurbished unit. The 505a's were at one time a Voom 550 box. It may or may not have been activated, but they had the ATSC tuner removed, face place switched and were flashed with new software. While making this changes allows it to work on the *C network, you can't do them...

Call *C, they will replace it.

The new receivers have tons of memory, which is why the guide will be extended.. The legacys don't because nothing did at that time, so they have to have a separate data stream for them.

However, the HD channels do show up on SD receivers. Atleast on the 207/317.

Their will be no change to either the 205 or 315.

The new code will only apply to the 4 current models (207/317/505/530). The 205 and 315 are not compatible with the new IPG, etc.
