Some channels on Youtube TV grainy, bitstarved

Do you subscribe to any other streaming services (Peacock, Paramount, HULU, etc.)? Is so, start a show on YTTV and then flip to one of those other services that has that same show and tell if if you don’t see a difference. For example, any show that I watch on CBS looks MUCH better on Paramount...

Some channels on Youtube TV grainy, bitstarved

YTTV has the worst picture quality of all the top streaming services. I don’t think it’s very noticeable unless you have a large 4K tv. I have smaller TV’s scattered around the house and the picture looks fine. But on my 85” QN90B I can definitely see a difference. I’ve tried YTTV, Hulu Plus...

Canceled Dish, what to do next?

Actually I’ve already called and cancelled. I should be receiving boxes in a few days. I’m asking if there’s any personal house cleaning I need to do on the receivers before I send them back. Kinda like how you would return a cell phone back to factory settings before you sell it to someone...

Canceled Dish, what to do next?

I’ve had my account on pause since the ESPN blackouts. Today I finally decided to cancel and stick with YouTube TV. My question is what do I need to do with my receivers before I send them back. I’m guessing I would need to log out of all apps (Netflix, Prime, etc.)? Can that be done through the...

    YouTube TV or Hulu+ Live

I’m curious why you liked the YTTV DVR better than Hulu? I read online that with Hulu you can record just 1 episode or new episodes. Which I think would be a plus over YTTV. So what is the negative with the Hulu DVR. I really like the service and picture quality of YTTV. But coming from a Dish...

    YTTV DVR Issue

Went to a game in my library that I only watched for a few minutes earlier today. Isn’t there a way to start from the beginning? Only options I have are watch key plays and resume from last watch.

    YTTV DVR Issue

That’s not a good solution. There’s a ton of shows with multiple episodes under “shows”. I record a lot of shows and if the new recordings aren’t under the new in my library section I’ll most likely miss them. What’s the purpose of the new in my library section if only random shows appear there?

    YTTV DVR Issue

Well I found the first episode in my library under “shows” tab. Why wouldn’t it be listed under “new in your library”? That’s going to make things confusing if every new show doesn’t appear under “new in your library”.

    YTTV DVR Issue

I’m only in my 4th day of a 21 day free trial. I’ve set the DVR to record most of the shows that I watch. So far it’s worked great. But tonight I noticed one of the shows I recorded at 8pm and 9pm aren’t showing up in the “new in your library” section. I had The Challenge on MTV scheduled for...

    YouTube TV or Hulu+ Live

That would be great. But I looked online and didn’t see any options for a free trial.

    Disney / ESPN Back Up!

I’m about to pull the plug on Dish as well for YTTV and I’ve been concerned about losing those same 2 channels. But I found another streaming service called FRNDLY that has those channels as well as many others for $6.99 a month. I really don’t want 2 different streaming services but I would...

    YouTube TV or Hulu+ Live

So I’ve been a Dish customer for the past 20+ years and have been happy with them for the most part. Their Hopper DVR is absolutely the best in the business. But when they lost ESPN over this past weekend I started looking at some streaming options. I subscribed to the 21 day free trial with...

    Disney / ESPN Back Up!

I agree. I signed up for the YTTV 21 day free trial on Saturday to watch college football. It has some things I don’t care for or would at least need to get more familiar with (the DVR, guide, etc.). But the picture quality on my 85” 4K tv was amazing! I’ve been with Dish around 20 years. But...

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

I agree. But sometimes it’s nice to start watching about 30-40 minutes after the game has started so that I can fast forward through halftime.

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

I agree with this statement except during college football season. They’re pretty much king for college football. Especially for the SEC.

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

So how much do they charge to put your account on pause? I assume when you do that you keep the equipment in place and it just doesn’t work until you resume? Can you still watch shows on your DVR while it’s on pause? Does the time you have it on pause count towards your contract?

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Wow, this Alabama/Arkansas game on YTTV looks way better than my Dish CBS channel. Crystal clear.

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

That’s good to know. When I signed up for the free trial it asked me to choose shows that I watched. It added those shows to my library. I noticed this weeks Young Sheldon was in my library and since I haven’t watched it this week yet I tried it out. But I guess it was pulled in from their VOD.

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Well YTTV may not be a good option for me after all. I just noticed you can’t fast forward through the commercials on DVR’d shows. After having a Dish DVR for so many years there’s no way I can start watching commercials now.

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

The main reason I’ve stayed with Dish for some many years is the DVR. I watch a LOT of tv and the Hopper has been awesome. Plus I’ve been with them for so long I have all the channel numbers memorized that I watch. And I can maneuver the remote without ever looking at it. But I invested in a...

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

I just signed up for the You Tube TV free trial. Hopefully they’ll get this worked out before my 21 day free trial expires. But I will say the picture quality looks better than Dish.

So does DIRECTV stream work similarly to You Tube TV? Does it offer cloud storage as well?

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Is there a way to set timers and record shows on YTTV? And is so, how many can be recorded (or saved) at the same time?

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Do you get any 4K channels with the free trial?

    Disney Networks Dispute Recitifed

Actually I was wrong. I always assumed that because I could watch it on my ESPN app. But I guess I was able to do that because of my Dish subscription. Okay now I’m pissed.
