I don't know what Setanta Sports USA is, but if its an add-on package like HBO, Showtime, HD. then yes, you'll only pay for 1/30 of a month. If its a sports-pack like MLB extra innings or Sunday Ticket then its a 1-time fee that you can't cancel.

same here. once my year is up next month, and unless this "huge announcement" is amazing, I'm switching to cable. If I cancel DirecTV my HD receiver will still work for OTA, right?

I think the rate is based on a day-by-day basis not 24-hours. So if you order in on Saturday night, but forget to cancel by Sunday, I think that's 2 days. I don't think you have to wait at all, I ordered HD-pack for a basketball game a couple weeks ago, and cancelled right after it.

about 40 cents a day. I do that for HBO & the HD-pack if there's a movie or game on ESPN-HD I want to watch.

This is BS. I've never complained about the decompression of HD or the rate hike or the blackouts, but this is bogus. I will not pay $320, and since ST was the main reason I have DTV, I will most likely cancel when my 1-year is up and go to cable where I can get NESN in HD.

They only have 1 HD PPV channel. 99 I think. But it only shows a few movies a month. So unless you want to watch Lord of the Rings or Butterfly Effect 5 times a day, you're out of luck...

al is most likely correct, I have the same problem getting 119 because of a tree, it's ok sometimes when the wind isn't blowing. But one thing to check, do you have the 3 lnb oval dish selected in your setup menu?

Not sure why you would say that. A 4:3 TV can show HD programming in letterbox. I have a 32" HDTV, and letterboxed its equivalent to a 30" 16:9. Plus I get a 32" 4:3 screen out of it instead of a 27" (which a 30" widescreen would give you). For the same reason I don't like cropped or squished...

Where around Boston do you live? I live in Waltham; I just use a $25 indoor antenna, and I get all the local HD channels. I do live on the 3rd floor though, so I'm sure that helps.

It looks like they moved HBO & HDPPV (99) off of 119, and ESPN-HD & Discovery-HD onto it. (Along with HDNet, BravoHD, and 90 & 93). I could be wrong though, I'm just basing this on what channels are currently not coming in for me very well.

Are you serious?! That is not cool. I don't think I'm alone in not being able to receive a good signal from 119. Many people seem to have tree/building trouble with 119. I can deal w/o HDNet and Brave-HD, but if this starts to affect HD football and baseball I might go crazy.
