Adding a referral for an upgrade

How can Dish get away with saying "free ipad mini" when you sign up as a new customer? If I opt for the discounted prices, no ipad mini--seems fishy and illegal to me.

Making switch from directv but question about 120 package

Just tell her to get a paper route if she wants those two channels. Just kidding of course, but my wife and I end up solely watching six or seven channels (ESPN, FOX Sports, Hallmark, Hallmark movie, Inspiration, and locals). What a waste of money to pay for the channels we do not watch.

Will I keep HD for Life?

So what if I sign up for Dish today (presently with Direct)? Will I still qualify for the HD for life? I just want to save money but want/need some sports channels in HD. Brad

Considering switch from Dish to Xfinity - talk me down?

That is exactly the move that I am planning!! Right now I pay $190 for Direct TV and phone/internet with Century Link. I hope to lower that to around $110 with Dish/Comcast internet/Ooma.

Wanting to get HDTV to both TV's with DVR

Thanks so much for the nice bullet point presentation of the costs for each provider. It makes the decision a little easier with the information given. I will be sticking with Dish and probably will be getting either a 622 or a 722 depending upon the difference in price. Thanks again, Brad

Wanting to get HDTV to both TV's with DVR

Sounds like some good options. The main thing I want, is to be able to record/watch HD channels downstairs separately from anything we have upstairs. Our present 622 receiver is fine for upstairs. My wife tapes nearly every "preaching" show imaginable upstairs, which is fine, but we...

Wanting to get HDTV to both TV's with DVR

Thanks for all the help guys. I should have been a little clearer. My oldest son, who has a disability will be using the HDTV downstairs most of the time. Consequently, we cannot just run a cable downstairs to the Pioneer (which does not have a HDMI port). We will probably have to lease...

Wanting to get HDTV to both TV's with DVR

I currently have a 622 DVR duo tuner setup with HDTV to the television on the first floor and SD broadcast to the basement television. Both televisions are HDTV (Sony and Pioneer). Just wondering what would be the best setup to get HD on both sets. We are remodeling our basement and would...

    VIP 722 Dying?

My 622 will display the title bar but will not display a picture. Any thoughts on what is causing this problem? Thank you-in the meantime I will sign up for the warranty coverage. Brad

OTA Tuner on 622 VS 722K

I have a similar problem with my VIP-622. When I program the channels through the 622, they work for a few minutes and then there seems to be a loss of signal strength and hence no channels. I have my antenna just sitting on top of the cabinet that the TV sits in.:D I have a Terk antenna...

    Cancelled Platinum HD

Just cut my E* bill from $95.00 to $35.00 a month by dropping the Platinum HD package and dropped my regular programming down to the "Family Package." One reason for the switch is the pathetic performance of our local NHL team--Colorado Avalanche. Kept the HD DVR receiver, so I did have to...

    Bye bye Dish. Hello Internet

Our household is contemplating the same change. Our dish bill with HD and the top 200 is almost $90 a month--too much for TV. Brad

    Cinemax for 1 year for .01 w/ autopay/paperless billing

I had the "Starz free for 3 months deal" which just expired last month, so I jumped on the deal with Cinemax for .01 for a year. I thought it was just one channel, but the rep clarified that it was only one HD channel but a total of 4 Cinemax channels. I was pleasantly surprised. I had to...

Dish TV and Cable Internet install

Have you looked into DSL--qwest now has 7.2 MBS speed on their platinum service. I am switching over from comcast because of the cost also. I can get the $36.99 price for life. Will then have Dish and qwest high speed internet. Brad

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

I do not want any premium channels at all because of the smut that comes over those channels, so I will be blocking most of those. Really it is a house plus trees that are in our way of getting the SkyAngel signal. We are a little displeased with SkyAngel since when we initially signed up "Bob...

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

Dish tried to talk me into staying with them. Offered me a HD receiver though not dvr. Also said comcast is raising rates again by 7%, but I am unaffected by that since my rate is set for 12 months. I will miss the picture quality of dish. Seems like parting with a "loved" one since I...

comcast offer for dish network customer

If you want a dvr and hdtv you will have to pay $9.95 more a month. Do you get any premium channels with that price. I just signed up as a new customer with comcast who left dish and I got (2) hdtv dvr's silver package with all HBO channels for $49.95 a month. I realize the picture may not be...

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

That's part of the problem. If I want HDTV you have to upgrade not only my receiver but my dish also (more money) Right now I have two dish setup so I can receive the PBS channels and the Sky Angel (which we purchased a lifetime subscription for something like $250 when it first was...

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

Now that you mention it--the Colorado Rockies need to be sold and the stadium demolished so we can get our money back--I live in Colorado and that team is sorry. Back to the point. I am not up to speed about Mpeg4. Will it be good for dish users? I might just stick it out and then make...

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

I figured someone would immediately slap me for trying to get a "deal" I am not trying to get free--just a reasonable price to upgrade my equipment. Just call me a "professional" athlete who jumps to the next team when "green" shows up.

Switching from DISH to Cable: how long until I can resubscribe and get a decent deal

I have had DISH network since they first came out. Moved several times and am now in the position of having two SD DVR units. I lease these units so it is not like I own them. They are making money on me every month. I really want to go to HDTV as I have 2 of those sets now in the house...
