Take away the $10 for Platinum, and it will be. From what I have read, that is going away on Aug. 1.

Those were the names of the old HD packages before the metallic names. Essential was the $10 package and Ultimate was the $20 package.

    PEACHTREE TV ATLANTA BRAVES BASEBALL

Dish certainly picked a good time to start showing Peachtree games. I haven't been watching much Braves this year because they haven't been that good, and they have seemed to show more games that I couldn't get than I could. But these last three games have been a lot of fun for Braves fans...

    PEACHTREE TV ATLANTA BRAVES BASEBALL

All of South Carolina is Braves territory. So it is blacked out for ESPN and TBS games. Tennesse is Braves territory too, so I have the same problem.

    Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast

It is a pain for satellite users in SEC country. I was disappointed I couldn't watch the SEC baseball tournement because it was on CSS exclusively. I am worried that since Vandy isn't one of the bigger teams in the league, some of their games will drop to this channel.

    Regional Sport channel question

Correct. It doesn't matter where the game is played. TBS will never show a Reds or Indians game in your area. I am a Braves fan in Nashville, and it still seems weird that I will never see a regular season Braves game on TBS ever again, considering that network is a major reason I became...

Turbo HD gold customers get hosed!!

That was actually a very legit case, and the final damages were undisclosed (much less than $2.9 million). I really hate it when people refer to that case as a frivolous lawsuit, because it was anything but.

NCAA blackout differences between E* , D* and cable

The NCAA women's tournament on Dish has one positive and one negative IMO compared to cable. The positive - In many cases, I get two women's games on at the same time. The "national" game is on ESPN2, while the local game in on ESPNA or one of the other alternates. Cable just gets the...

Any one ever heard of helping a friend with bad credit it Dish?

I am that way with my in-laws. They don't have a credit card, so I set up the account for them. They pay me each month (it's a pretty minimal service, so the cost is low). The billing address is mine, but the service address is theirs. The only weird thing was when a new smartcard arrived...

Linksys PLTK300 PowerLine Network Kit $75 at Circuit City

I bought the Linksys kit on the day before my Circuit City closed for $60. I really wasn't sure how well it would work, but it has been really solid and fast. I have my upstairs PC and my Vip622 hooked up to it, and it is so much faster and more reliable than my wireless connection...

    Another Lost Newbie

I would just take one of your exisiting lines and run it into the 942. The 942 can output to one HD and one SD set, so connect the SD output to the TV that you removed the line from. You still will control the same number of TVs with the same number of lines from the Dish.

322 setup question - controlling multiple TVs

My parents moved into a new house recently, and cable won't be available for some time. Since I had a good experience with Dish in the past and the deals are pretty good right now, I signed them up for a 942 and 322. The 942 will control the HDTV in the living room and the analog TV in...

Should I use 811 or 301 with analog TV ?

An 811 will also let you see the HD satellite channels, such as Discovery and ESPNHD (assuming you buy the HD pack).

    My Dish'n It Up Experience

I have decided not to fool around with their one-year policy. I am switching to Comcast for a least the next twelve months, and then if I am unhappy, both D* and E* should have their MPEG4 conversions complete.

    My Dish'n It Up Experience

I am getting worried about the 942 upgrade myself. :( SInce I upgraded to the 811 in September through the Dish it Up promotion, I may not be eligible to lease the 942. I am torn about what to do. I really want an HD-DVR, but I don't want to pay $550-$750 for an obsolete one. My...

    Question about recording HD locals?

The 942 HD DVR is scheduled to be released at the beginning of March, and it can be leased with a $250 initial fee (or you can buy it for $750). When you get your new TV, hook up an antenna to its HD tuner. If you can receive digital signals on it, then you will be able to receive digital...

    FROM DISH: New 942 Information

I would think that most customers that get the 942 are already paying a lease fee, so it isn't a big deal.

    FROM DISH: New 942 Information

In the spec sheets displayed in the first post of this thread, the 942 will have NBR. I don't know about the 921, but the 811 isn't a DVR so it has no need for NBR. ;)

    Dish Network DVR

There is the same $4.95 DVR fee that the 510 has. There is an additional $5 fee if you don't hook up the 522 to a phone line. If you happen to have two or more TV's, you could replace both the 510 and another receiver with the 522 (since it can control two TVs at once). That would save...

    FROM DISH: New 942 Information

As I stated before, when I became a Dish customer a little over two years ago, I paid $50 to get the 508 DVR as part of the Digital Home Plan (which is almost the same thing as the DHA). I see the $250 as just an upgraded version of that deal. One big advantage to leasing the equipment is...

    Dish Network DVR

It depends. Are you a new customer or an old one who upgraded to the 510 through the "Dish it Up" program? If you are new, you probably can't upgrade anything for a while (possibly a year). If you are old, you will be able to get the 522 starting around Feb. 1 (according to today's chat).
