Canceled Dish - they sent 2 boxes for receivers!?

In that case, I never had one! I'm remembering my original DVR as being a 500 series model. I don't remember having an 800 series at all.

Canceled Dish - they sent 2 boxes for receivers!?

Thanks Matt- I had Internet problems last night and today, so I was unable to look up my account number. I called Dish today and it turns out the 811 was the original DVR I used years and years ago and when a tech came out to install the ViP722 and add an additional tuner, he took the 811. I...

Canceled Dish - they sent 2 boxes for receivers!?

I only have a VIP 722, I have only ever had 1 receiver actually. Like 8 years ago I got a 500 series DVR, and then right when the ViP722 released, I got that and sent the 500 series DVR back. Why does Dish think I have 2? The email we got before getting the UPS boxes delivered says there is...

After, lemme think, 11 years... leaving Dish. Not a brag thread - just info and saying good bye her

I don't remember the specifics, but from what I understand, Dish will *never* get ESPN 3D because of the partnership that brought it about. Could be wrong on that one, but that's the way I interpreted it. And 3D is not only not going anywhere, it's advancing very rapidly. From just getting...

After, lemme think, 11 years... leaving Dish. Not a brag thread - just info and saying good bye her

Thanks Mary B. - nothing Dish did wrong (other than not having 3D content). I just got lured away by introductory pricing and equipment (existing DirecTV customers can't even get the new DVR unless they buy it full price from a stand-alone retailer) and 3D so I can say I am keeping up with my...

After, lemme think, 11 years... leaving Dish. Not a brag thread - just info and saying good bye her

Hey all. I have been a loyal and happy customer for most of the 11 year relationship I have had with Dish Network. For the longest time they had the best equipment and pricing. When I got my 722 Vip it was late-breaking and cutting edge. Now it's old hat. Also, the total lack of 3D content...

Should I be getting charged a $6 monthly DVR service fee?

I thought they got rid of those fees if you only have 1 receiver? I have a 722 ViP and no other receiver.

Had a ViP 722 for over 3 years now, cheap upgrade options?

Just curious. Are there better receivers out there? If so, do current customers get upgrade options for better (bigger hard drives) receivers and get discounts?

    Old Charlie Chat's

We had to have that to have what we have today. Thanks Charlie! Love my AT120, HD for life, and 722 DVR! $39/month!

Finally pulled the trigger on HD for life....

Okay, well I was on the HD 'bronze' package. So I'm not included in that offer. I have been a Dish customer for 7 years and won't be changing any time soon. If FIOS INTERNET ( and tv I guess ) was ever to come here, I would switch, but I live in a small community well outside of the...

Dish and 3D - missing in action?

Yes they will. The 3-D they will be broadcasting is a side-by-side 3-D that the current receivers can broadcast and record.

What rate? I'm an existing customer. No new package, just HD for life.

Dish's response to DirecTV's Free HD claim

I am loving the new Dish pricing. I pay $39/month for a 722Vip dvr and America's top 120. Free HD. It's the least I have ever paid for Dish, and I am getting more than ever before. Thanks Dish! No DVR fee, no telephone has to be connected, just straight and simple ( and cheap ) pricing.

Finally pulled the trigger on HD for life....

I ended up signing up for another 2 years. As much as I enjoy being contract-free on everything, we have been with Dish for 7 years ( DVR's are the best ) and we won't be leaving any time soon. So we are actually saving $10/month over the next two years. Great deal IMO. We have Top 120...

Dish and 3D - missing in action?

I personally don't mind wearing the glasses, I just don't like paying $130/pair. They fit comfortably over my regular eyeglasses and don't get annoying after wearing them for hours. What is annoying, is if glasses are a permanent requirement, it sucks that if you have several friends/family...

Dish and 3D - missing in action?

That I can understand. I too will probably be waiting a bit. I really wish more things would support side by side and checkerboard. I have a 1 year old Mitsu DLP. If I have to buy a $99 adapter, that's not too bad. But, 2 pairs of X102 glasses adds $260 to the deal. If someone comes up...

Dish and 3D - missing in action?

I don't understand the people that want 3-D to fail. Is it because you don't want to invest the $ in the technology? The thing is, if you don't like it don't get it! Very simple. 3-D blu-rays will still be regular blu-rays as well. 3-D tv will still be broadcast as HDTV. Gaming will still...

Dish and 3D - missing in action?

Any news on Dish offering 3-D programming? If it's been covered already, I apologize. I searched this site as well as the Dishnetwork.com site and both returned 0 results. I have a 3-D ready DLP and will be buying the Mitsubishi adapter necessary to properly display 3-D images. What 3-D...

Number of timer limit needs to go away.

Ha Ha! We love watching a lot of the cooking shows. Now with HD and good audio, they are so much fun to watch. We are both on low fat, lots of veggies diets so we can't eat most of the food they show but it is fun to watch.

Number of timer limit needs to go away.

Wow, we only have 49 timers at the moment. Some are 1-time events coming up like golf, etc. I guess I could see how reaching the 90's could happen. We just don't follow too many shows. For some reason, we get into shows after they hit DVD or Blu-Ray and we fall in love then. Lost, Dexter...
