Someone explain DISH's thought process to me

Yeah. Really, though, why bother? I've had this 622 for, I don't know, five years maybe. And the protection plan that you don't even need anymore for that long as well! We'll see.

Someone explain DISH's thought process to me

It's mid-July and I was just told by DIRT I was ineligible for Hopper upgrade as well. Maybe it has to do with bundling through CenturyLink who they no longer partner with. Perhaps it's time to just flip providers again. Whatever. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

    WatchESPN and ESPN3 Access

Concerning ESPN3/WatchESPN - I'm stuck in CenturyLink/DISH hell, too. Best bet is get a username and password from someone who gets it.

HD Locals/OTA channels no longer available with Welcome Pack

Does anybody know what's happened here yet?

HD Locals/OTA channels no longer available with Welcome Pack

I suppose it could not be true. Let me reiterate because you're arguing yourself. I stayed with Dish because Welcome Pack with Blockbuster was a good enough deal for the temporary time I needed it.. That no longer exists. If I were in the same situation this summer, I would rather spend 30...

HD Locals/OTA channels no longer available with Welcome Pack

Latest restrictions would be no Blockbuster as possible add-on and, now, no HD locals. With blockbuster, it was a $25 package and a good enough deal. As a new directv sub you can probably get a little better package for thirty bucks for the first year.

HD Locals/OTA channels no longer available with Welcome Pack

To save money last summer, I dropped down to the Welcome Pack with Blockbuster/Platinum. If these latest moves by Dish had been in place then, I would certainly have left and taken the new sub deals with Direct. With the new restrictions, it's an almost worthless package.

    That explains that.

    hbo hdcp

An update on my HBO hdcp problem. I cancelled hbo. During the free preview in March I checked again and it was still not working on my LR set. Today, I wake up and for whatever reason (I didn't order it) HBO is back on and the channels come in - no hdcp. Not complaining, just an update. I don't...

Is there an OTA only option with DVR?

I dropped to Welcome Pack during summer last year. I was able to keep HD for life when I went back up.

    hbo hdcp

Thanks. My components are used up so I just cancelled HBO instead. I don't quite understand the motivation on their part. Movie torrents come out their first week in theaters and HDCP is broken, anyway - Thrones and True Blood will be out twenty minutes after they air. They've done some cool...

    hbo hdcp

My LR television, an older Olevia HDTV hooked to a 622 via HDMI, got the on screen messages this afternoon for all of the HBO channels. TV2 is unaffected. Reset. Nothing. Switch to Showtime, I guess???

Dish has serious intergrity issues....i would not trust them

Okay. I'll pick this up later today. I have torrents to download! On a side note, I'd like to apologize for reading like a dink with the face palm comment... as much as I hate them and wish they would stop.

Freedom vs government regulation. Well, I wouldn't say they are mutually exclusive.

Dish has serious intergrity issues....i would not trust them

That's better. Thanks for leaving out Captain Picard. This thread is derailed beyond comprehension, but I want to make clear... what I saw going on here was a bunch of people jumping on a guy for complaining about service and price. They used, I believe, the incredibly easy response of "If you...

Dish has serious intergrity issues....i would not trust them

Sorry. osu. You are correct. TV is not an inalienable right. Complaining about it's service and price, and the system used to achieve said price...... is.

Read my post again and learn something. Stop with the lame and tired facepalm, it's almost as annoying as your inability to address my entire post.

So whos NOT getting a Hopper due to lack of OTA?

I didn't mean literally! I just mean it won't matter much to me with the PT AT. I can hook it to the tv.

Dish has serious intergrity issues....i would not trust them

Don't sweat these guys, Pretzel. The fact is, when the cost of basic necessities are as inflated as pay tv prices, these folks will be whining like children. Seriously, Steve... you're going to take the stance that only those who can afford a product are entitled to it? If Dish, tomorrow, asks...

Dish has serious intergrity issues....i would not trust them

Really? It's impossible to believe Dish and SOME of their low-life retailers lie to their customers on a regular basis and treat them like crap? It happens every day. Someone pointed it out the other day, but it really is annoying when the cheerleaders show up and call the OP's liars. I've had...

    Questions about The Hopper?

I assume the answer is "yes", but will a joey be able to get the network stream of a dlna connected hopper? In other words, can I watch a movie streaming from my computer on my joey connected television? Or just the main room hopper? Thank you.

3D in 2012 -- May send me to DirecTv

Spy Kids 3-D, the first of the big family 3-D movies, was released nearly a DECADE ago. EVERY top-end television sold today is 3-D capable. Nearly every theater has a 3-D setup. Not to mention 3-D gaming and glasses-free technology. Lambada was a fad. I think content providers and producers who...
