From reading through the thread at AVS it seems as though CS was chosen because it was the best matrixing surround solution available to use at the time, and is likely to be more temporary than anything. ESPN didn't have a way to do DD 5.1 so it instead picked the matrix solution they thought... -

How genius would it be if they combined ultra/gallery/auction into one channel, and then gave us InHD1/2, WealthTv, AND AMC-HD. Man what a dream come true! I think at that point all the bases would be covered. -

Or perhaps the delay is in that V* knows it only has room for 2 channels. It wishes to do InHD1 but not necessarily InHD2 because it also wishes to launch another station such as AMC-HD, or to a lesser extent WealthTV. Maybe they cant get InHD to split up the channels and only carry one. -

I guess that is the great debate. Can they? Will they? Should they? Only time will answer the first 2 questions. I'm merely postulating that the answer to the 3rd question is a resounding YES. You can't tell me if they had the content you wouldn't watch it. You don't think others feel the same? -

I never said what InHd is doing isnt good or desirable. And I also never made any comparison to ESPN-HD. Clearly, ESPN is at best the SD sports leader, and in no way is tops at HD. -

I'm not talking exclusive rights ala D*. I'm talking about rights in general. Clearly, InHd does not have exclusive rights to all MLB baseball games, what they do have is right to AIR some games. Voom could do the same. There's 10+ MLB games everyday I bet, I doubt all of them are being shown... -

I was more referring to Voom getting ahold of MLB, NHL, soccer, etc just like HDNet/InHD but just not the same exact games. As far as I know those 2 do not have exclusive contracts, and in all sports there is much more room for more HD broadcasts. What I did not mean was InHd has MLB, so... -

me either but looking at the program schedule on their website for sports (http://www.inhd.com/sportsSchedule/sportsSchedules.jsp) I think I counted 11 events from June 3 to June 17... about half were NCAA baseball, nearly half MLB, and there was 1 or 2 MLS thrown in there. -

I'm not even a hockey fan at all, but I would absolutely love to see the NHL on Voom. Honestly, if they were able to grab a bunch of games I really think it would draw new subs. New subs = more money for Rainbow. More money = better content. Better Content = More Subs & More Enjoyment! Its all...
