FTA Interest - Dish Network along the Arc!

I used to own a C-Band Dish a long time ago. To be honest, I loved messing around with it. And recently I've been thinking about doing some sort of Free To Air surfing along the arc again. At this point, I'm just gathering information to see if this is something that I might want to get into...

Alright. I am slowly getting to where I want to be. I need some help though. How are you guys getting the HD channels off of the satellite and onto your TV's without the purchase of expensive HD FTA receivers. I'm hoping for a component cable hook up from my computer. Can such a thing...

Ah! Thanks for the heads up on the LNB. I've ordered one, a single from Invacom. I hope to eventually upgrade to a C/Ku-Band LNB should one become available. Again thanks!

    76 CM Good to go?

Sorry about posting in the wrong area. Ice, you are even a bit further north than I am. Does it get clear reception? If so, all I need is a motor and I'm nearly ready to go.

    Two Receivers-/one splitter?

Question then. With the Invacom LNB's ability to receive FTA, Directv, and Dish Network signals, does this mean one could in theory use a directv switch on a FTA receiver and a Dish Network receiver??If so, that would be huge! Or would a person run one side of the dual to the Directv switch...

    Primestar 40x30 Install help

PSB, did you at that point discontinue the project? The reason for my question is, a dealer told me 5' minimal Dish size for all C-band is necessary.... Is this true??

    Primestar 40x30 Install help

I purchased mine from an ebay seller. It took me a couple of days of going back to ebay to actually find one. But, I got mine for $89, shipping included. You can purchase 90 cm and 100 cm new dishes from on-line dealers. The only problem is though, they charge as much or more, in some cases...

    Primestar 40x30 Install help

I just purchased the Primestar 40x30. I am going to have an Invacom 0.3dB LNB, which I will use for Dish Network/Ku-Band. But, I am also hoping to use this for C-band reception as well, so, do any of you have a good recommendation in mind for a C-Band LNB? In addition, does a clamp like the...

    FTA & MPEG 4 Question

With MPEG 4 coming down the road is it smart to go for a FTA satellite receiver now, or should a person hold off on it until things switch over. FTA sounds kinda neat. I'd like to get my feet wet, but don't want to get soaked twice in a short amount of time. $$$$
