FTA & MPEG 4 Question

With MPEG 4 coming down the road is it smart to go for a FTA satellite receiver now, or should a person hold off on it until things switch over.

FTA sounds kinda neat. I'd like to get my feet wet, but don't want to get soaked twice in a short amount of time. $$$$

I would take the plunge! MPEG2 will be around for some time to come and FTA receivers are pretty cheap, when there is enough FTA on MPEG4 to justify it, a simple receiver swap will be all you need. The dish motor and LNBF will work!
