I recently purchased coolsat 8000 receiver, It has SW 11170A how do I get it to 2025A. I've ran upgrade 3.01 uploader and downloaded files from here. But I cannot get coolsat 8000 to recognize the upgrade. What is proper sequence? Turn receiver on off at what point? Thanks in advance!

What type lnb? Size Dish? If it has dual lnb (pick up sats 4 degrees apart) T5 97 (AMC 19) and W4 101 (AMC 4) would pick up some international, religious channels.

This receiver has issues sure, for a cheap price, it works good if you slave it to a Coolsat 5000 or 6000. picks up HD 4:2:0. I scan with coolsat, then enter found coordinates in. Sports feeds in 4:2:0 format, G16 abc hd, AMC 1 ion hd, plays fine, etc.. If you have a tv with several inputs...

I use the Captain 8000 (Converted Neusat 9000) as a slave to a coolsat 5000. Use it to pick up 2:0 hd feeds that the Coolsat can't pick up. No 2:2 though! I use the 2 user sats, one for ku other for c band. I will comment more if requested, as not much info on this receiver.

I just looked at the picture posted and there is not much movement allowed, probable rotation of dish is only option.

Did you try rotatating LNB itself? From say 12 o'clock to 11 o'clock.

So Captain will pick up feeds where the neusat would not?

I have accomplished by purchasing this receiver. (1) ac-3 direct to TV without special audio receiver. (2) 4:2:0 HD. (3) blind scan (but no way to set parameters, always a full scan) One negative not mentioned, no OTA scan or reception of local digital feeds.

I replaced DiSEqC switch with sw21, put cband on sat1 and kuband on sat2. I found through research, the neusathd responds to it better. I was able to find more feeds through blind scan. Ex: Little League World series feed last night. Receiver will find 4:2:0 feeds. Still no 4:2:2 hd feeds. But...

I am having trouble with the feeds, example football feeds on T6 I could not get a signal, even though my 4dtv setup can pick up Neb PBS. My coolsat 5000 would find these signals. This receiver makes me feel like a novice. The blind scan does not work very well for me, does not see all signals.

Was able to scan in PBS feed 511 and 513 ac-3 audio playing on tv audio. Still have to fine tune dish for PBS HD feeds. Signal of 67% Quality of 45% not quite strong enough for trial.
