How far away do you guys have your dish's from the receivers?

My dishes range from 60 to about 200 from the recievers and I use Rg6 for both the Ku and Cband dishes and not seen any issues. A lot will depend on the quality of the cable you buy along with the installation on the connectors. Sent from my SM-T210R using the SatelliteGuys app!

    Lightning strike

You might look into getting both a really good grade surge protector and invest in some spike arrestors, one for the dish and the other ones for your equipment. I have Holland SA-1F on all my dishes and receivers. Most likely you had a near hit and not a direct hit. Also, I've never heard of...

TuffTV on 87 SES2 in PA

If you can only find a 7 footer then that should work for you, getting a 8,10, or 12 footer would give you better coverage across the entire band in the long run, but they can be harder to locate in certain areas and may cost you more.. I can get it just fine with my dish.

How many RG6 coax cables fit a 1" PVC pipe?

I'm redoing my layout and getting rid of the old pipe and going with a 100 foot roll of 3" corrugated drain pipe which cost me $26.00 and using underground irrigation valve boxes from Menards for the end at the house and out by the dishes with each cable using barrel connector. This way I'll be...

    Lightning LNB damage

To protect my receivers and dishes I've installed Holland Electronics Model SA-1F spike protectors on all my LNB's and LNBF's along with one at each receiver input. Price is around 8 dollars, but still cheap insurance in my book...

You need to start driving around and check out buildings in your area for any old Prodelin dish which aren't being used. That's how I've got the three Prodelin 1.2 meter dishes that I'm using and I didn't pay a dime for any of them.

setup with 3 FTA receivers and a dual LNB

Why not just use the loop out connector as both of your receivers probably should have one, that what I use on some of my receivers setup up for 99W.

How do the broadcasters keep there big dishes clean of snow in the wintertime??

Same here in Iowa at the TV / newspaper I used to worked at as whoever was the tech on duty or on call had to go out and clean them with a long broom, more than once had to come in from home to do it. Now I just step outside to clean them, but at least not in the middle of the night.

    blown caps for fta receiver

The main thing here is if he's not sure what needs to be done then check everything without power or find someone to help. Now I will say that when working on computer mainframes and the drives we did remove the ground which was common practices for working on the equipment and that included...

    blown caps for fta receiver

Pull the cap's back off and if you can take a picture of both sides maybe we can help you. Also if you don't see any marks then look at the trace on top and you should see one that is either square or maybe a circle which will normally be the negative side for the cap. Also look at another cap...

Quick Questions for people who has long cable run experience...

I'd say NO to being a cable problem but if you've got damage or water in the connectors might cause it. Does this happen on other satellites or just AMC1? The other thing is that tree in the video inline with AMC1, if so that might be your problem if your only having problems with a single...

Quick Questions for people who has long cable run experience...

A couple of my runs are over the 200 foot length and I'm using RG6 cable with no problems, but I would also add a second cable just for backup or if you decide to add a second dish. If your using pipe to enclose the cables just make sure the size will meet any additional dishes and their cables...

1.2 meter KU dish needed, Mid Michigan area.

Have you checked to see if any business in your area has a Prodelin 1.2M dish that's not being used anymore. I'm happy with the performance that I get out of the three I have, just not sure being fixed would be an issue for you.
