BHTV 3.0 - app and web browser now work outside of home for live TV

BHTV on Roku? (or any OTT platform for that matter?) Likely not April 12th, and now with the Charter purchase announcement coming to light, probably not anytime soon. Additionally, one probably can't watch many of their desired networks via the app or the website when away from the home...

BHTV 3.0 - app and web browser now work outside of home for live TV

Got an email from BHN about BHTV 3.0 this afternoon, and checked it out. Great job BHN, on finally rolling out the ability to watch live TV outside of the range of your home cable modem network. (Seriously, great job!) Verizon's allowed it for over a year now for FIOS TV customers, so I'm...

    WFTV-HD not on 9.1?

Reliable source tells me BHN goes all digital February 2014, and going even further and encrypting all QAM sometime thereafter. (No more free QAM locals in SD/HD on your QAM-tuner TVs and aux tuner devices that aren't cable-card equipped.) The days of free basic/standard cable service on all...

Is Bright House considering offering Roku channel as TWC presently does?

Just as the BHN app works on a tablet today, you don't choose the channel by number. You're selecting streams of data, not RF channels of video signal. You locate the channel's stream by name in a guide of all channels available, in a grid similar to a TV guide. You can also look for the logo...

Is Bright House considering offering Roku channel as TWC presently does?

Roku channels (in general) are just a means to watch certain content which is already available online in some format. In the case of the TWC TV channel on Roku, on initial setup they just match your Roku box up to your current cable account using your TWC username. (On BHN, it's your "My...

Is Bright House considering offering Roku channel as TWC presently does?

I'm curious to know if BHN is thinking about adding or "launching" a Roku channel similar to what TWC has done over the past year with TWC TV, letting you watch the channels online via your Roku box instead of a set-top box. Similar to what the TWCTV and BHTV tablet apps already allow, this...

Bright House Outage hits Tampa and Orlando markets.

Bright House has been having a major services outage, from as early as 10:40am this morning according to what they're admitting to so far. All three services (cable, phone, internet) seem to be down in both markets, and telephone lines for tollfree / customer service / billpay seem to be down...

BN9 coming to Orlando system? Is this true?

D'oh you're absolutely right. I see that now. Wow. Hmm, so that trick should allow the other channels to be viewable then too, I suppose?

BN9 coming to Orlando system? Is this true?

Read elsewhere that BN9 (Bay News 9, BHN Tampa) is being added to BHN Central Florida system later this month, on Digital ch #1209... The thread went on to state the launch date would be Dec 14th. This post is on another board, so as courtesy to SG I'm not going to hyperlink you to it. (:P)...

RR Lightning (40mbit / 4mbit) Coming to Central Florida this summer

Not saying this is the specific model BHN is going with, but I have reason to believe this is what they're testing... You may want to review the documentation here. Cisco Explorer 8300DVR Multi-Room - Support - Cable TV Set-Tops - Consumer - Cisco Another thing to keep in mind is, even if...

FXM is a pay channel now?

It's a part of the movie pack in Tampa. Down here, as long as you have Movie Pack, you get FXM. Not sure how long it's been in that specific tier though. I also remember that they don't air commercials, and they're airing feature films to a national audience... Can't expect that to remain...

HSD = high speed data. HSD is an acronym used within the company.

    NEW RR Lighting 40/5 SPEED'S

The waiting list aspect applied back in Jan, when I posted that. ;) It was from the initial launch's reaction. As for bridge mode, I imagine it's bypassing the routing/firewall instructions that normally apply by default when the device is setup as router. Since this is an all-in-one type...

BHN testing Cisco multi-room DVR units?

I've seen that Cisco DVR. I sure hope they're at least into internal testing stages on something leading towards multi-room. I see upgrades and new customers in BHN's future if they can at least step it up to that level of DVR platform.

BHN testing Cisco multi-room DVR units?

I've read (and more recently heard some buzz) about BHN testing Cisco boxes that could/would be used to offer a Multi-room DVR solution... Finally? Is this really true? Insider, any details? Byron

Need a cheap plan: Tampa Bay

Here's an alternative...just not one you can implement right away. Next time you buy a TV, get one with QAM tuner as a feature. Hook it up to an outlet. All the locals, SD, HD and some of the government channels...and the occasional slip up a free premium, movie on demand or regular cable...

    NEW RR Lighting 40/5 SPEED'S

$15/month plus that $50 non-refundable COD upon install, and more recently requiring one having the patience of a saint to sit on the installation waiting list, so I hear. Still, with FIOS increasing their contract length periods and termination fees, Lightning is still something to keep in mind...

    BightHouse & ESPN 360

Know anyone with Comcast? Same works for their service. :) It's not really against TOS when you think about it. You're using a SSO (single sign on) which is a choice from the screen that identifies you as not being on a provider they have an agreement with. You can then select a carrier from...

    Diagnostics channel...

Back in the day, you could hold down the diamond button (picture of a diamond.. dunno if its still a button on today's STBs..) and the select button... or some combo of two buttons.. after the box was powered on and running..... you'd know it was working if you heard a "ding" noise on the TV...

    BightHouse & ESPN 360

I'm guessing all BHN service areas would have to make a master agreement of sorts with ESPN before this happens. Not just Orlando or Tampa divisions. And I don't think Time Warner Cable has it, and from what I've observed with past service offerings from BHN, TWC usually offers something in...

    Losing Viacom Channels

Nice. You got the channels back and added the Magic's other regional spot, being FSN... I'd just be wary of the upcoming annual rate increases.
