Can both hopper be set to bridge mode and connected via ethernet? I am having problems with dvr playback on one hopper when setup this way. Please help.

Only ONE Hopper should be set to bridge mode and connected to ethernet.

Can the other hopper be connected via WiFi if the first hopper is ethernet connected? How do I disable internet connection on second hopper if no wifi allowed on second hopper ?

If you have Hopper #1 in bridge mode and internet connected, wifi or ethernet, Hopper #2 will get internet connected via MoCa. There is no need for any other internet connection for Hopper #2.

Does it make sense to have the hopper that does most of the dvr recordings the one that has access to the internet ?

Not really, neither one cares where the internet is coming from just that it has access. If one has it in bridge mode they both do.
I have connected one via ethernet and one no internet. However , the Ethernet hopper says it’s connected via moca and ethernet is connected and disabled. The other hopper says it’s also connected via moca and that the wireless is connected and disabled .

On the Hopper with the ethernet attached, press Home 3 times to get to the Diagnostics screen, go down to Network, press 5 on the remote to reset your network. That should fix the first one, and maybe the second. Those with 2 Hoppers would be better to advise you as to how they have that second one set up.

1) Living Room Hopper3 is connected to my Home network using the top Ethernet jack.
2) Family Room Hopper3 is connected by coax using Moca.
3) Bedroom Joey3 uses moca connection.
4) In the past I had both Hopper3 receivers connected using the top Ethernet jack but one of the Hopper3 receivers would always disable the Ethernet connection and use moca. The last receiver to reboot would use moca connection. So I finally disconnected the Ethernet connection from the family Room Hopper3 so the connection stays constant.
5) Both Hopper3 receivers have bridging turned on so that the Joey3 in my bedroom has internet regardless of which Hopper3 it is connected to.
6) My Spectrum internet speed always registers 212 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload. My Living Room Hopper3 receiver shows a download speed of 100 to 212 Mbps depending on when I do the speed test. I suspect it depends on what internet site that Dish uses for their speed test. My Family Room Hopper3 using moca connection shows a speed of 216-218 Mbps.
7) Both Hopper3 receivers and my Joey3 have a fixed I/P address on my Nighthawk R8000 router.
Living Room Hopper3 is 192.168.1.6
Family Room Hopper3 is 192.168.1.17
Joey3 is 192.168.1.18

I have two Hopper3 Receivers and a Joey3. I have bridging turned on for Both Hopper3 receivers. My Joey3 can be connected to either of my two Hopper3 receivers. If I only have bridging turned on for one Hopper3 I only get internet on my Joey3 when it is connected to the Hopper3 that has bridging turned on.
So bridging should be turned on on both Hopper3 receivers or your Joey3 will lose internet when connected to the Hopper3 that has bridging turned off.

Don't ask me why, but if you are having troubles try connecting your Living Room H3 Ethernet cable to the Bottom Ethernet port.

My two Hopper3 receivers and my Joey3 are not having any internet problems. I just pointed out how they were all connected. I also refuted the post that said bridging should only be turned on on only one Hopper3. Since my Joey3 can directly connect to either of my two Hopper3 receivers I need bridging turned on on both Hopper3 receivers or I lose internet on the Joey3 that connects to the Hopper3 that has bridging turned off.
I have no problem with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and On Demand streaming on all of my Dish devices.

Do you happen to know which Joey apps can function directly via their own internet connection, as opposed to simply being a dumb terminal to the Hopper?

I would try this, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the one Hopper it's connected to and on Both Hoppers, go to your Internet Settings (Home x3, #2 - Networking, then #7 - Internet Settings - I may have named those wrong, but those are the numbers) then on the remote, hit Info and then Recall and say yes to clearing internet settings, do a reset network and reboot. that's starting from scratch.

Making sure Bridging is on, on both Hoppers - which it should be, it is by default, connect the one to the Ethernet and use the Top LAN Input and it should connect then give you the Popup that it's sharing the Network. Once it's done, everything should be Moca Connected and the Hopper with the Ethernet should say Using Top Ethernet Port - WiFi Disconnected (or Disabled)
