Add/delete packs from your Flex Pack online?

I switched to Flex Pack a month or so ago. Looking at 'My Programming' online, I don't see any options to change my Flex Pack add-ons. All I see are the old legacy packages.

I just chatted with support, and they knew nothing. I was under the impression that once I was on Flex Pack I could +/- add-ons via the web. Is that true?

It looks like I can. I am afraid to change anything though as I have read they are discontinuing the flex pac and I am afraid I could not go back if I changed.

I've never been able to add or delete add on packs on my account , except for heartland pack. But I was told that since I requested the Flex pack before it was released to the public, because I found out about it here on this site, that I would always have to call in and have the customer rep do it. So that's the breaks for being an early adopter.

I can add or delete flex add on packs anytime I would like since I went to the flex pack the week it started. the only time I could not was when I was being upgraded to the H3 for two days until the tech came and did the install. just a side note sorry to see Buzzr(245) go from the flex. I enjoyed catching a match game here and there.

I do not subscribe to the Flex Pack, but if I click on it in my account, the add ons pop up so I can choose the ones that I want. Then when I click on it again to remove the check mark(dot), they disappear. The same as shown in post #2 above.

Changing packs should be fine.
My problem is Nascar and NBCSN. For the next three months about half of Nascar races are on NBCSN and the only way I see to get NBCSN is by switching to top 120 or higher and I am now afraid if I switch to 120 for three months the flex pack will not be there for me to come back to.

Do either of you have any old deactivated receivers with purple G3 Smart Cards still tied to your account? That can cause the Flex Pack options to not show up on your online account. Have a CSR look for any old receivers on your account and remove them completely, and that should fix the problem. Interestingly, on my account that still has an old deactivated ViP211k (with a purple Smart Card) tied to it, the problem (with Flex Pack not showing up as an option in my online account) recently seemed to fix itself, even though I did not request to have that receiver completely removed from my account.

I signed up for Flex Pack before it was publicly available like you but I'm able to change packs online.

Sounds plausible, so I just chatted with a CSR. I gave them the serial number of my old 211, and they assured me that it was deactivated and would not affect my programming. I does NOT have a Smart Card in it.

Do old receivers sit around on your account even if they have not be activated for years?

Yesterday I chatted again, and asked the rep to delete the old 211 from my account. It WAS still there, and she had no problems deleting it.

As of this morning, I still can't see the Flex add-ons under My Programming. I think I'll give it a few days and see what happens. Perhaps some database maintenance needs to run...

I installed the myDish app on my phone, as recommended by the chat rep. Interestingly enough, in the app I see an option to delete the Locals pack that I do NOT see on the web. I'm not ready to pull the trigger, but the option is there. I do NOT see the rest of the Flex add-ons in the app, however.

Well I had quite a problem getting it done on one of my accounts . My Dad has it on my second account and they can change at will online. I simply can't. But I don't want to try to get it changed and listen to the csr act clueless about it. I can make changes if I want by calling in the old fashion way. But if they wouldn't do it for me, then there would be a problem. I would then go through the loyalty dept. to make the change for adding the online packs so I could change at will.

That's unfortunate. The real value in the Flex Pack is being able to add and remove add-ons at will when needed. I will add a pack for a particular show or sporting event and remove it the next day, and the total cost of the $10 add-on is pro-rated, about 30 cents.

It appears that if you keep it for a short enough period, they don't even charge you. I don't know what that threshold is, if it still applies, or if I'm mistaken, but I've added the Sports pack to watch a game and deleted it not long after the game was over (so I didn't forget later and leave it on) and I'm almost positive I was never charged for it.

Yes, that is correct. I did exactly that to add the local channels for the Super Bowl. The threshold is midnight to midnight (in your time zone) as far as I know, just like any other pro-rated charge. In other words, you can add a pack early in the morning, and as long as you drop it by midnight, there is no charge because the pro-rated charge and pro-rated credit offset each other.
