It was okay until they climbed out of the tower structure. No way would I ever attempt something like that. Notice how loose the safety hook was on those climbing pegs? :eek:

I would think it would be safer to just wear a parachute.

I would also think it would be a lot faster and less risk of falling during climb to just be dropped off at the top by a helicopter.
 
The worst I've done personally was riding a "skip-lift" up to stops when I working on a high rise. It was like 700ft and the operator opened up the chicken wire doors. I made the mistake of taking a peek down. It was above the building. There was so much frigging sky!!! I'm still freaking out and this was in 1992
 
High power lines are not near as high as towers. Yet they use helicopters for the power lines. Odd. Cell phones companies should have more money to spend on the use of helicopters than power companies.
